    Basically i bought 3800x for the price of 3700x. If the price was regular i would pick 3700x.

    TUF is about 150 PLN more, and it was my first choice, but it not match the color scheme... B550 boards cost almost the same as x570, fe that Asrock PRO4 B550 is only 40zł cheaper, which is ~10 $. And Thunderbolt support may be needed int future.  TUF is much better than this asrock?

     

    Ram clearance should be ok.

    Case and RGB is absolutely subjective and not bound to any gender tho.

    Because for girls aesthetic and look is often more important than for man. And that's te case here. If i build for myself, i would gladly choose chipper case, no rgb etc to get more performance in same budget.

    My main concerned is MoBo. I chose it mainly for aesthetic reasons. Is there any better than that in similar price point? Also, in same price i can get 3466mhz RAM, but CL16. Which one will be better. Will there be issues with ram clearance? Any thought? I haven't build pc for couple of years, and i'm not up to date as i used to be.

     

  5. I just build my first Ryzen build and i experienced some odd behavior. But first my spec:

    Cpu: Ryzen 1600

    Gpu Palit 1060 jet stream

    Coller: Silentium PC Fortis V2

    Ram: G.Skill 3000mhz 15-17-17-35 CMK8GX4M2B3000C15R @ 3200mhz 16-16-16-35

    Mobo: Msi B350 Tomahawk bios 1.9

     

    I find out using Ryzen Master Software that my chip works rock stable at 3,9GHz with 1.35V. It even go to 4.1GHz but need 1.5V to be stable and it is too high for me for everyday usage. So, after 16h successful stress testing with Aida64 i try to set those settings (3,9, 1.35V) in bios, but my system don't even post. I try voltages up to 1.5V but still no post. I read that i should disable AMD Cool N' Quiet, C States/C6, Spread Spectrum, Core Performance Boost but that didn't help either. Max i can get through BIOS is 3.85GHz and it is stable at 1.275V setting (but it actually it is  1.31V). Any advice how i can get better OC with bios?  1.31 is quite low and i fell there is much room for improvement

    After assembly my system don't even post. It turned out that one ram stick is not working, and after removing it my system post and i was able to install windows with 1 stick only. I was even able to OC ram up to 2800mhz t 16-16-16-35 (I read that some people are able to run that memory at 3200mhz 16-18-18-36 at same motherboard, but in my case system won't post with that). I was going to RMA RAM but out of curiosity i checked  memory in z170 system, and, to my surprise i find out that both memory sticks are ok and run at 2933 15-17-17-35 with no problems. At that point i was thinking that the problem is with my motherboard rather than ram, so i took ram from z170 build (G.Skill 3000mhz 15-16-16-35 2x4gb). And it works flawless, easily overclocked to 3200mhz  16-16-16-35! So my mobo is ok. As a last resort i put all 4 sticks (G.Skill and Corsair) together and... it works as well, all 4 sticks was detected and i was able to oc to 2444mhz. 

    Any of you have idea why one of the corsair don't work with my motherboard at all unless i put two additional sticks? I would understand if any of those corsair sticks didn't work, but that is odd as hell!

  7. I have currently GF 650, but, i'm going to build new workstaion and completely change the way i use PC - multiple VM's on multi screen config. So, maybe  if i'm lucky, i  will finish with Nvidia and Amd  cards in one rig.

  8. Hello everybody!

    Currently I'm in process of testing my new miniITX rig (Asus Z170i Pro Gaming, i5-6600k, EVGA 970 SSC ACX+, 8Gb 2400mhz Ram, Cooler Master Seidon 120v rev2, Cooler master elite 130).

    I changed CPU ratio to 46 and set 0.030v offset to core voltage. Aida64 is running for 13h (and counting), everything is stable. CPU-Z reports, that core voltage fluctuates between 1.27V-1.3V, however, Asus AI suite and Aida64 shows slightly higher values, 1.312V-1.344V. CPU temperature (reported by Aida and AI suite) is 55C-57C degrees and, CPU Package temperature is ~65C degrees with peeks to 71C. Hottest core peeks to 73C degrees. Motherboard temp is 40C. 

     

    All above temps occur when fans on radiator spin less than half of their speed. When set to full speed CPU temp drop to 48C, CPU package drop to 50C-55C withe peaks to 60, and mobo temp to 33C degrees.

     

    Are my settings safe for long time usage? What about temps?

    Thank you for all advices and sorry for such delay in response. I was thinking about better PSU from the beginning, but my budget limitations force me to find something cheaper. My thinking was that this will consume something like 280W after OC, so I have plenty reserve, especially that 450W corsair i proposed is really  in good price. However, i will find something slightly better.

     

    R9 390 is not an option to me. I will be running Linux on one of the systems and Linux Radeon driver is crap.

    A 2x4GB memory kit would be better, especially for the ATX build. Check pricing on DDR4-2400 CL 15 memory. If G.Skill is available, they have an NT line that is usually well priced.

    I will definitely go for 2x4GB for ATX build, but fo ITX i will by 1x8GB. Simply to have room for additional 8GB in the future. G-Skill are much more expensive. I will have to choose between Crucial (without rads) and Kingstone.

    Could you add a second fan to the Dark Rock 3 for a push-pull configuration for even slower fan speed and noise reduction. Did not see it in the specifications but the mount seems proprietary?

    Simply, there is no mobo with z170 without support for igpu. And you can utilise iGPU for Quick Sync encoding, OpenCL and stuff like that.

     

    Yes, i could add another fun to Dark Rock 3, additional mounts are included in box.

    Gladius M35 is windowless, but maybe I will add window in the future by myself. Looking at PSU cables isn't an problem, because M36 have full covered basement so no cables will be visible.

     

    Last dilemma i have concerns mobo for mini ITX build. I can't find good comparison about z170 itx boards. I have to choose one from:

    GIGABYTE GA-Z170N-WIFI

    ASRock Z170M-ITX/AC

    or, if it is a good reason, slightly more expensive 

    - Asus Z170I Pro Gaming 

    - MSI Z170I Gaming PRO AC

     

    Which one i should choose and why? Which will be the best for stability, which for OC?
