32Gb External SD card for Android not showing up on PC
papapoi replied to MS32's topic in Phones and Tablets
usually when you connect the usb cable it will ask how you want to use the phone, choose mtp and it will recognize your phone as storage. alternatively you can set it via settings/connect to pc/media device something like that not sure what the moto os is but thats for android4.0+ im surprised it didnt automatically install the drivers, most newer phone have the drivers on the internal memory card to install on the first connect. -

when you tried to boot off the other motherboards was there an error message? what process were you trying to do? reinstall windows?
-
in some older model pc's there is no setting in bios to allow booting off usb, i have an hp which i had to burn a actual dvd for, but nothing recently made should have that problem. by now most manufacturers should have had bios udpates, which motherboards in particular did you buy? were they used?

i gave up trusting google maps, i went to south carolina for the first time and it took me two hours to get to my hotel which was less than 30 mins away cause it kept rerouting itself and took me out to the middle of nowhere and i had to stop at a gas station to get directions. all this after a 11 hour flight and being awake for over 24 hours straight. thank you google maps

yw, in my opinion that is a good choice, evga is a very good brand and use quality components

my point is that kids will do what they want no matter how much you try to police them, thats why i said that i prefer that he let me know, not that he always does. everyone has to make choices in their life ,good or bad, thats just life, if he gets caught then he has to deal with the consequences. i am not his parent and neither are you. so all we can do is give our thoughts on his question.
-
possibly the system could have shorted out the motherboard when the kid was constantly pressing the start button, even though the hdd spins and the gpu also, it doesnt mean the motherboard was not damaged. (worst case scenario) by looking at the mb it seems as if it doesnt have built in memory. though its a bit blurry, it would be good to know what model it is . how old is the pc? options: 1) if you have a spare psu try and connect it to the mb to see if that changes anything 2) if you have a space case fan attach it to the cpu header of the motherboard and see if the fan starts running dont let it keep running though this is just to test if the cpu fan is dead

i personally feel if my son earned his money to buy something then he can do what he wants. i would prefer he lets me know though. it just up to you if your parents find what you bought then decide to actually look up the price then you will have to figure out an explanation, but to answer your question amazon wont check your age unless you give them a reason to. for example order a r-rated movie on the streaming app, order alcohol, tobacco etc.

from the amazon site YOUR ACCOUNT If you use any Amazon Service, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your computer, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password. Amazon does sell products for children, but it sells them to adults, who can purchase with a credit card or other permitted payment method. You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase alcohol, or use any site functionality related to alcohol. https://www.msi.com/power-supply-calculator http://www.jonnyguru.com/ = power supply reviews http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html - psu ratings use the calculator, get a idea of what wattage u need, maybe add a little more for future upgrades, look through the list of psus via toms hardware link then see if there are reviews on the jonnyguru site , if not google it, or ask here, everyone has their favorites and opinions on what they think is what is the best. just find what fits in your budget and just make sure you don't go cheap as it is one of the most important parts of your system

Need help convincing dad I need to upgrade.
papapoi replied to Elmoydg's topic in General Discussion
if you are using it for college then that should be a priority since it will help you get your projects done faster which gives you more time to study and other things, the hard part is that if your dad sees you playing games more than working on school related stuff no matter how much you try to convince him otherwise he will think you just want a better gaming pc -
http://seasonic.com/product/eco-430/ after looking at the specs its 230v fixed which is strange but i guess normal for that side of the world, in the US is 115 , but its a good psu from the reviews i have seen

seasonic are a reputable brand even though its in their economy brand, it should do well for your build as long. i own a seasonic and am satisfied. i would buy a 500 but like everyone has said a 430 should be adequate since you are not overclocking , i went with a 500 because i had a blu-ray in my system, here is a pic, the only thing i had was a stock cooler since i wasnt overclocking, dont mind the mess i used an optiplex 990 case and i also had a all in one card reader below my blu-ray burner

the corsair cs or cx series are decent. not much available in your price range i prefer the evga psu g1-g2, i have a 500b 80+ that i used for my setup with no problems you can always choose to use your current psu, its just that the psu pretty much connects to all of your components so thats why its not good to get a low end psu, i myself have never had any problems but there are horror stories out there. i have a diablotek psu in my sons system that has been running for over 6 years(knock on wood) so it up to you.

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/MAXIMUS_VIII_HERO/E10343_MAXIMUS_VIII_HERO_UM_WEB.pdf this is the manual for that motherboard unless your buying an el cheapo psu there should be more than enough molex connections, , this is a pic of a standard psu also that motherboard has 6 places you can plug the sata cable into, it really doesnt matter which one you plug it into, page 1-32 will show you where. edit: sata 1 & 2 ports are better for your ssd/hdd , use 3-6 for extra stuff

yes that motherboard will work since it has 2 x 20pin usb 3.0 connections, mine has only 1 so i lose functionality on my case ports, the white one you probably are referring to are the power connector(molex) which connects to your power supply to power the quick charging port, the sata cable connect to your mb also for the card reader functionality since they are considered storage device. that mb is out of my price range but if you can afford it, that's a great choice for your needs
