  1. I would definitely do that however my roommates dont want wires spread through the house. Very anal about that sort of thing.
  2. So WiFi extenders that plug into the wall or something?
  3. Hey all! So I plan on upgrading our WiFi setup for the house my roommates and I just moved into. I have a modem in mind to get since the one I brought is something like 10 years old and doesnt take full advantage of the 250mbps we pay for; which I do understand we wont get fully cause thats how it goes, however we went from an 1100 sqft duplex to a 3000 sqft 3 story home and the current hardware wont cut it once we have everything setup. I want something that I can centralize in the house so we have good coverage throughout the whole place. I've been looking at things like the Nighthawk x10 and the like, however it's A: Expensive and B: Has a lot of negative reviews and issues. I can do a bit on the pricey side but if I can save some cash then I'll try to. We have a bunch of gaming consoles hooked up, 5 different rooms that we stream netflix and stuff from, and 3 gaming PCs. I would like to keep the setup to just the modem and router but ill look into any suggestions and try to answer questions you might have for suggestions. Thank you!
  4. Thank you, I'll try this when I get home from work.
  5. DDU? Sorry, still waking up can't remember the acronyms.
  6. So I was messing around with my 980ti Strix about a month ago trying to see how far I could push it. However, when I start a test in Valley or Heaven or even open a game, which in a few of my games I get an error after trying to get in the actual game (Andromeda and Doom), the clock speed goes down to 500mhz and stays there, not coming back up to a normal speed until I restart the system. Is this some kind of safety feature? Is there something I'm missing? I'm new to overclocking graphics cards so I have no idea what to do. Been using MSI Afterburner.
  7. If I were to make a tool drive to test most aspects of a computer then what programs do you all recommend and why? Looking to get familiar with more tools of all kinds to do system checks and the like. Hopefully, add it to my resume' of programs I know and am comfortable with. Love working on with hardware but its probably a good idea to know more of the software side. I'm familiar with some programs like Valley and MSI Afterburner and the smaller things like CPU-Z and GPU-Z but that's about it. Thank's guys!
  8. Well I have a new problem. The system was unstable so I upped the voltage to 1.65V like I mentioned above, now the system won't post. Cleared CMOS both by removing battery and using the two prong jump for clearing on my MB. No post. Tried using different ram sticks. No post. Tried removing all hardware except for my CPU and RAM. After placing graphics card back in, no post. I'm totally stuck and now have a bricked system...oh and to the guy who i said had best answer, it worked but the sticks seem to be rated for 1.5 volts according to the sticker on the side.
  9. It seems to have worked! If I get unstable I'll put the voltage to 1.65V. That wont fry anything right?
  10. Couldnt afford an intel platform at the time I initially built the system and went from a duo core up to a hex and finally ending on an octo core
  11. I tried enabling the XMP profile which brought it back to 1866 and ran into those problems. Couldn't change the timings and voltages for some reason but I can go back and look.
  12. Yeah but I'll need to redownload CPUz so give me a few
