  1. Currently I'm running a GTX 580. Man is this thing a power hungry bastard. Its loud, hot, and doesn't perform all that well with newer titles. I would love to be able to play something like the witcher at reasonable fps. As such I haven't played it yet. This would be an awesome upgrade.
  2. Using a box like that for streaming, and playing some light gaming would be awesome. It's crazy how powerful those little boxes are now.
  3. Username: mdrewitt Favourites: 1. https://www.vessel.com/videos/JemZ8O7Hy Dam these cards are awesome, and expensive. 2. https://www.vessel.com/videos/JYZEYDYx0 Hard pipe builds seem like a lot of trial and error for your first go. Gonna take alot to figure out how to bend the piping cleanly
  4. This would really help jump start my new build. Running on a 5+ year old AMD machine, really would like to upgrade to a nice new Intel one
  5. Not quite sure. Maybe Broadwell? DDR4 is only supported with Haswell-E which isn't worth the money right now IMHO, so I guess I will continue to play the waiting game.
  6. I would have to check once at home, but I haven't been running those clock speeds for about 8 months or so now.
  7. Part of the problem is its down to stock right now as I was getting BSOD constantly. I had rolled it back to 3.74 but that was still causing random issues.
  8. Hmm odd. I guess I would have to test, but my performance in some games seems much lower than it should be. Maybe flag for more issues I'm not seeing. Thanks for the advice!
  9. That's what my current thought was for the CPU. Considering I want to go all out for this build (custom water cooling, minor case modding etc) I would like to not regret the parts I put in it. I'm surprised at the GPU part, although I have a feeling my CPU is bottle-necking. I was planning on keeping my current GPU for the time being after the upgrade. Save myself some money in the short term.
  10. I have a GTX 580 2GB. Sorry I updated my signature with my current specs.
  11. Its been a while since I upgraded my PC, and I'm set for a full rebuild. I have been holding out to find out when I should upgrade, but its beginning to force its hand. My CPU is dying, causing me issues, and I have dialed back the overclock I've been running since I bought it in favour of stability. Since I am looking, it turns out its a time of big change. DDR4 looms on the horizon, along with new a Intel architecture. While I know that DDR4 is not really needed for gaming, or much of anything right now, I don't want to get stuck a generation behind, like I am currently stuck in. I hope to have this build for a while, and would like for it to be able to support me in future things like Oculus Rift, and games on the new UE4 engine for example. So I guess the question is, do I wait? Or is there a CPU that you can recommend me buy now that will serve me well? I'm pretty much set on Intel for the build, I haven't seen anything from AMD excite me in a long time.
  12. The choice of triple slot with fans that are that quiet on load. Gotta love having all that power without a hair dryer running in a nice quiet case. Also the lighting on the Extreme is pretty cool!
  13. I remember watching back when you first started the channel, after also watching NCIX tech tips. You guys are now my favourite source of tech/hardware news/reviews and I watch almost all of your videos. Thanks guys! Keep up the awesome work. Good luck on years to come!
  14. Full metal construction and good speakers? Yes please!
