  1. Have you tried verifying the files in uplay, perhaps a fresh install could help
  2. Perhaps go to the tried and true method of removing all componets out of the case, and rebuilding outside the case on a non-conductive surface. this will ensure you have no shorts and can rebuild piece by piece. I am at a loss on this one other than that
  3. Hey, Call me ignorant for asking this, What HDMI upgrade are you looking at? HDMI 2.0 will handle 4k@60fps. (running currently on my 4k tv/1080ti) I really believe that your running yourself shorter than you believe in the GPU....Unless the turn around for your upgrade to the gpu is a matter of weeks/or a month or two...then I really think you need to revisit the choice there. Youve got an exceptional system choice overall. I personally think you can shave some money off the psu, and the cpu. to ensure you get a gpu that you will be happy with. Thats my personal opinion. EDIT: Perhaps look for a used GPU now that will fulfill your needs.
  4. Wash your damn hands people...how many times have you seen someone use a public restroom and walk out without washing their hands???? If you see someone doing this, dont be a dick to the rest of the public and say something. If people would practice responsible hygiene and stay the hell home when sick this would help dramatically, not just with this virus but MOST viruses and sicknesses...wash your hands, sneeze into your elbow, dont touch your face and mouth with dirty hands. Please just wash your damn hands.
  5. Logitech mouses have always been my go to- I love them, they just seem to work the best for me. The free scroll on my logitech mouse sometimes gets hit every once in a while and runs crazy, but the ergonomics of the thumb rest etc feel best for me..Im running the logitech 502 fyi
  6. If hes not reselling and just gifting the pc away after awhile, then just go with one that is already blocked. I dont think you will get any huge differences between the pre-installed blocked cards. so go with the brand with the best warranty/preference and enjoy!
  7. nah wont affect anything the contact is made at the base, I wouldnt mess with it or bend it back, install the board and dont worry about it.
  8. Perhaps, a gpu waterblock is going to be 200ish extra, if he is going straight water cooling then yes it will be more cost effective...ALSO, its going to be easier/safer, he will no longer have to remove/install the air cooler and avoid any warranty mis-haps with potential damage from removing the air cooler/installing the block. If i was buying to do straight water cooling...unless the cost of an air cooler 2080ti was EXTREMELY less than just buying one with a block. I would skip the step....However also, You might lose some resale value down the road if you dont have a stock air cooler...its not a straight forward question to anwser.
  9. could the tech have improperly applied the thermal paste ...yes, could the thermal paste also not conduct heat as well as what was on it before? yes....could it take time to cure...yes (unlikely to affect it much)... perhaps the cooler is not mounted tightly enough. you can easily remove the gpu and attempt to tighten the screws around the gpu core. doing a quick search you should be easily able to learn this. Do a bit of research on it, and you should be able to learn how to tighten these up a bit. There is always a risk when removing old thermal paste or removing the cooler that you could see negative effects...perhaps have the tech re-do the work because of unsatisfactory results.
  10. It would definitely help a specific group of audience, however i think the problem would reside in the percentage of their demographics that it would actually help or be useful to, its more footage, more cuts and edits, more storage space etc....for which I personally believe would be a very small percentage of the overall demographic of pc users unfortuntely....
  11. https://www.howtogeek.com/107511/how-to-boot-into-safe-mode-on-windows-8-the-easy-way/ take a look at this site, should help you with several options to boot into safe mode.
  12. buy it, the risk of damage or issues is the same as buying any "non-mined" gpu.
  13. As this thread was resurrected, I will put my 2 cents in with my experience of the dbrand grip. I bought this pretty much at laucnh for my s8+ after approx 4-6 months of use the buttons werent working well and had broken away from the casing on the inside, then at the bottom of the case around the charging port had broken completely. HOWEVER contacting dbrand support went very simple, had a bot anwser first then was asked to send pictures. Did this and got a replacement very fast, however the replacement eventually followed suit and broke as well. I have upgraded phones a few times now and currently pay for insurance on the phone, by doing so I have gone YOLO and run the phone bareback. I believe I will now do this with all my phones as I dont like the bulkiness of a case anymore and if Im paying for insurance then what the heck....
  14. the hyper212 cpu cooler has been around for an extremely long time, it is a tried and true legend in cpu cooling. It will be money well spent. It is beyond capable. But firstly, your temps as fine as they are, 80c will not harm or lower the life of your cpu at every day usage. However if you want peace of mind and can easily afford to purchase this my vote would be for the hyper 212 as I have used this in the past with great success.
