  1. I have a budget of about $250 for a new microphone setup, and I am not afraid to admit that I don't know anything about audio equipment. So I came here for a bit of help, From what little I know, I will need a mic and a mixer/amplifier, but what else would I need? and what are some recommendations you all may have for the setup? and I apologize if I am generally not too knowledgeable about this kind of thing, audio isn't my strong suit.
  2. So I was looking at monitors and saw that the Acer Predator XB241H bmipr is $350 on amazon. (https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB241H-bmipr-1920x1080/dp/B01C05C1OK/) It appears to be really good, G-Sync, 180Hz, etc... For around the same price is there a better monitor with G-Sync and a high refresh rate? Thanks for any advice you can offer -Half
  3. I think the Intel stock cooler allows for 50 C under load with 2.5v, but in all seriousness I think 1.3-something is the reasonable limit on ryzen. Not 100% sure though
  4. I dont have a Ryzen CPU, but with my STRIX 1060 6gb I pushed 2130 MHz stable from 1700. I think I still have more headroom but I think 2130 is enough on air.
  5. alright, they arent too expensive so I think I can fit it in the budget with like $20ish left to use on something else. Thanks for the help!
  6. alright, so that looks good. I think I would need a spider mount/shock mount right?
  7. Alright, it doesn't sound like too much of a difference, so I am guessing that it isnt worth the $50. Are there any accessories that I would want to have? A scissor arm stand is probably necessary but other than that, is there something else?
  8. Whats the difference between the AT2020+ and AT2020i? and is it worth 50 dollars?
  9. My current mic is broken, (too much static and its super quiet even with maximum gain) and I have a budget of 150-200 USD, what is my best option for a microphone? The AT2020 looks compelling but I don't think I have a budget for an XLR setup. I plan to use the microphone for streaming aswell, so is there any way to remove background noise (family talking, MX Blue switches, etc.) or is it just not possible? Thanks for any advice you can offer.
  10. I already tried to find both at stores nearby, sadly I couldn't find anything above Sennheiser HD 240s at stores nearby. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  11. yes it does help. I didnt think the the 2 cable thing, it does sound annoying, and I already decided to go with the k7xx firstly because, like techicolors said, the HD 6xx only ships in December, the k7xx ship in three business days.
  12. I do have headphones until then, my HyperX cloud headphones are starting to die but they should last until december. alright, I heard it in a video that I dont remember the name of right now so it could just be my imagination or just not really a problem. thanks for the video!
  13. thanks for a response faster than I could click submit, and I have heard that the sennheiser HD 6xx are sort of veiled, would that be detrimental to the gaming experience?
  14. I was looking at the Sennheiser HD 6xx and AKG K7xx, and as a gamer which of these would provide the better gaming experience? I mainly play competitive games like CS:GO, PUBG, and overwatch. So I believe that I would need positional awareness and a lighter bass to hear footsteps and to locate shots by sound. Which of these two headphones would work best for these types of games? thanks in advance for suggestions.
  15. Alright. I wont be getting an SSD though, My PC lacks USB 3.1 and TB3. So no point in it.
  16. Alright I'll go do that. Would it be faster than the normal external hard drive?
  17. So that I can easily use the drive for other purposes if needed, thats why I looked at the WD MyBook duo as its easily user-replaceable.
  18. I really don't know, whatever is faster. I dont care about data redundancies as I have a dedicated "Only backup" drive that I plug in only to backup for important files. I saw that but it isnt easily openable right? Any suggestions for those then? Also for that same amount of storage wouldnt it cost more?
  19. US. Should have said USD. my bad.
  20. I was looking to buy some USB enclosures/hard drives. I need at least 4tb. I was looking at WD MyBook enclosures, the duo and solo drive models. These are the two I was looking at: https://www.amazon.com/Book-Desktop-External-Drive-WDBLWE0040JCH-NESN/dp/B00KU68A1A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1500069671&sr=8-2&keywords=raid%2Bexternal&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/Book-Desktop-External-Drive-WDBBGB0080HBK-NESN/dp/B01LQQHLGC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500071866&sr=8-1&keywords=WD+8TB+My+Book I have like 200-250 dollars. What are some reccomendations? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  21. I actually have no idea. I just know its really expensive and I didnt want to touch it because it looked like it was worth more than me, I can ask though.
  22. Sorry for the late response but I was AFK. So a monoprice DAC/AMP? Also I have tried the headphones but the person who had them was using a DAC/AMP that costed more than my PC. FYI thats where I got the headphones, he gave me the pair and said I could do whatever. (I could sell it for around the same price to replace it) so I know I like the audio because I used it.
  23. Here is the amazon link, https://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-DT-990-Pro-250-Professional-Acoustically-Headphones/dp/B0011UB9CQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1499453278&sr=8-3&keywords=beyerdynamic
  24. I was looking at the DT 990 Pro but because I have a laptop I don't think I would be able to power the headphones properly. I don't know too much about headphones but I heard that the DT990 Pro is good. For about 100 USD what would my best option be? Also for around the same price as the DT 990 Pro is there a better option? Thanks in advance for any information you can offer and I also apologize if I don't understand something, I don't know that much about audio.
  25. those are the upgrades that I thought of aswell, I havent heard of samson though, I'll google that. And as for the mousepad, whoever makes the largest mousepad has my buy, and it looks like the glorious XXXL is the largest so far. Thanks for the info!
