Yeah I was playing it around the same time with an i7 4790k and a rx 480 8g and it was struggling to keep decent frames on a mix of high/med settings in mass PvP.

Update:. Soaked it in the isopropyl alcohol and it wouldn't budge when going at it using the pull and twist method.  Floss didn't work.  Neither my buddy nor I has a razor blade.  So, he ended up taking it to a local computer repair shop and using a rectangle blade exacto knife it popped right off.  Guy didn't end up charging my friend anything.

BUT, he bent the SHIT out of the pins.  Thank god none of them were broken and none of the pins had been bent from the cpu popping out of the socket so it was definitely the repair guy.

Spent the last 2.5 - 3 hrs meticulously bending the pins back into place.  Some areas were so bent that when looking down the pin line....it looked like a wave lol.  Finally was able to get them all back into place and CPU is running fine.  About 8 - 12 degrees cooler than what it was before.

Thanks everyone for the tips and insight.  I really appreciate the help. ♥️

Being an fx8350, it fusing to the heatsink sounds reasonable

Depending on what is being demanded, it doesn't matter if Facebook or Microsoft bought the tech.  If it's stolen tech, they will end up owning nothing if ZeniMax has enough proof to push it that far.

Hey I can keep my juice box in it and everything!  Just don't mess with my Star Wars or He-man toys!

That's a great idea for portability but I think the latency would be too high.  Even if it's "pretty good", that wouldn't be good enough.  VR is all about trying to make it as low as possible and anything else introduced into the system would just make things worse.

Yeah it was ok when I was using it.  Don't think I could even run The Division at playable frames though, even on low.  My R9 280 gets like 70 fps on all Low settings lol
