Skip the gpu and get a better cpu. A 5700x3d or 5800x3d

Use the gpu to encode in obs nvenc encoding has like a 3% perf hit on fps and that is all. The a380 will only add more cpu load as now all the image data from the 2080ti has to go to the a380 to encode with its av1 encoder which takes barely any effort just like nvenc on your 2080ti. But that does increase cpu load.

Dont get the a380 the clear issue is cpu power so invest in that the most.

    https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/4917vs4409/Radeon-RX-7800-XT-vs-GeForce-RTX-3080-Ti
The 3080ti had a decent bit better score according to this site, but it all comes down to what resolution you run, what games you play and so on. IF you can find a used 3090 in your price range, I would definitely go that route over ANYTHING else.

Though take everything I and the others are saying with a grain of salt, after all, we are just strangers on the internet. Don't purchase anything off of just what we say, do your own research to verify what we say

Honestly the only one ive ever used was that xfx rx580 that liked to start on fire. that said, their drivers are not ad advanced as nvidia or so im told. That is a solid PSU, i guess i hadnt realized how much they have dropped in price lately. There is nothing wrong with buying used components, just like buying used anything the only real thing to look out for is scummy people, though most people will be up front with issues, some will not and you have to have a keen eye to spot them.

~500£ gets you a used 3080ti or even a 3090 if you are lucky

    200-250£ gets you a used 5800x3d

40-60£ gets you a used quality 850w gold like the rm(x) or equivalent, also looking at pcpp there are no <100£ 850w with a 10 year warranty and any psu without a 10 year warranty is not worth buying new and you should buy a quality used one instead, and yes i have experience with used psus cause ive got 3 that ive bought for <15£ (450w dazumba, 550w dsa ii bronze, 700w tundra 85+) and they all work flawlessly even though that 450w is like 12yo now and approaching 13yo (bought 3 years ago)

Pretty good upgrade path! You'd really get more value from this than an AM5 upgrade
But with £100 more you could get a 5800X3D for the ultimate AM4 rig 🙂

Chaos Network reacted to RMTM in Looking for the easiest/best STABLE overclock for my gpu
    - Install and run Kombustor based from your monitor resolution.

    In MSI Afterburner(keep Kombustor running):
    - max-out(adjust to full right of the percentage bar) your power limit. Click on "Apply".
    - add 200Mhz to gpu's memory clock. Click on "Apply".
    - then add 100Mhz to the gpu's core clock. Click on "Apply". Then keep adding, in 2Mhz increments, to your gpu'c core clock. And click "Apply" everytime you add 2Mhz. Wait for at least 10 seconds, then keep adding the 2Mhz to the gpu core clock until your system hangs and/or reboots.

Don't worry, your system will be just fine. When it hangs and/or reboots, that means you have reached the full capability of your gpu based from your overall system setup. Just remember where were you on the gpu core clock MHZ figure before it hanged and/or rebooted. Because the gpu core clock number(in MHZ) before the last figure you've added is your stable gpu overclocked value. Go back to the afterburner and input that last stable gpu core clock number(Mhz). Save a profile number, and apply. Then you can now enjoy your newly overclocked gpu settings.

Note: Just make sure that your gpu fans are not running on default firmware configuration. To maximize gpu cooling effiency.

    Enjoy and have fun!

A 3900X will be much faster for productivity tasks, and nearly as fast as the 9900k for games. If you can find a 5800X or a 5900X in stock they would be much faster in both productivity and games. An aircooler will perform better than the AIO you chose, unless you really like the look of it. With some of the extra budget I chose a 3070, it is much much faster than the 1660Ti in games and in GPU accelerated productivity. And you don't need to buy windows, you can get it off a reseller for ~$30, or go unactivated.

I cant be the only one absolutely infuriated by these scalpers. This is a bit of a rant triggered by the fact the i just saw an opened and used ps5 digital listed on my local facebook marketplace for "$1300 usd no lowballs" like tat is not worth that, get out of here, and actually maybe just drive off a bridge you scalper.

Rant over. Feel free to tell me your experiences with scalpers.

then why did you post in air cooling? as for the coolers, just simply find some reviews and judge them from there. Both seem to be good coolers. I would personally go NZXT because the price is close enough and the looks are better. But don't take only my word for it.

Then go for the 3700X, it'll still be faster than the 9700K for video editing. Also by going with X570 you'll be able to upgrade later on down the line anyway to a 3900X/3950X when those drop in price or to Ryzen 4000.

$500 puts you over the price of a 3900X, which would be perfect for editing and gaming. Intel CPUs are kind of bad buys at this point.

    a 6gb 980ti

cpu and gpu are water cooled.

I found a ryzen 7 1700x for $100. Is it worth the minimal increase in cores and threads for a lower clock speed?

new cards, i personally have no idea, but i know in the US you can usually pick up a used GTX 980ti 6gb for like $200-$250, and get an nzxt watercooler for it for another $50-$75 and overclock the card. i get 120fps on modern warfare with that setup, an overclocked ryzen 5 1600x, and 16gb of ram. so its all about your system, not JUST your gpu.
