  1. Finally retired the old 2500k on the Intel Z77 mobo setup and found a deal for a new sealed i7-8700 with a Gigabyte Z370 HD3 mobo for $280 on facebook. Liking it a lot already Edit: The clocks are stock so 4.3GHz max turbo on all cores from what I could find
  2. Not sure how reliable these benchmarks are but it's something http://www.babeltechreviews.com/gtx-1080-ti-sli-performance-25-games/3/
  3. G303, G403, G Pro, or G502 are all good choices with the PMW3366 sensor if you want to stick with Logitech. The PMW3366 is Logitech's version of the PMW3360 sensor (not 100% sure about that but read it somewhere before) so other mice with the latter sensor should still be good.
  4. I agree with Damascus, another thing that might help out is adding another kit of ram or replacing your 8gb kit with a 16gb kit.
  5. According to a quick google search Intel started implementing AVX with Sandy Bridge on 1155 and Sandy Bridge-E on 2011, and have improved upon it with each generation.
  6. The drivers (from what I could find) for that card on the MSI website are from December of 2016, I'd recommend downloading drivers straight from http://www.geforce.com/drivers and using DDU to uninstall your current drivers and install the new ones afterwards.
  7. These are on the QVL to run at 2933MHz https://goo.gl/QsoMXP and https://goo.gl/9vtQtW If you want to look at the QVL go to http://www.gigabyte.us/Motherboard/GA-AB350-Gaming-3-rev-10#support-doc and download the memory support list for Ryzen and google the module P/Ns to get a look at the prices.
  8. I'd get the NH-D15 unless one of the other ones deXxter mentioned are on sale. Edit: The Dark Rock Pro 3 is on a flash sale through newegg right now for $74.90 USD w/ free shipping. https://flash.newegg.com/Campaign/13521?icid=WP_27_06222017
  9. This is what I could put together for an AMD build, you can overclock, the ram is on the qvl to run at 2933MHz, and you get a gtx 1060 https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/hZnB6X
  10. You could go for something like this for an Intel build https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/mRQsQV EDIT: If you change the case to a Thermaltake Versa H22 and power supply to the one you put in your Intel build, the cost would be €782.69
  11. My motherboard only allows me to increase it in increments of 1, and I cannot get it to boot at 101
  12. It's actually a 4-wire fan. I'll have to do some looking on ebay or something to see if there's any replacement heatsinks or just fans for it.
  13. So today I tore down my computer to clean out all the dust, and since I have really old parts that likely don't have warranties anymore I took my graphics card apart too. Upon putting it back together and booting up the fan only spun a little then stopped. I thought that was weird so I opened up MSI Afterburner and set the fan speeds at 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 percent. The fan only spins at 90 and 100 percent. If I get the fan to spin I can manually put it down to 87 percent and if I go to 86 it stops working all together. I checked all the wires on the fan and they look fine, and the connection to the pcb of the card is good as well. Any ideas what could be wrong with it?
  14. I was thinking way too hard when trying to come up with what to use as a filter lmao. Thanks
  15. I need something 220mm x 150mm that'll work as a dust filter for my front intake. Is there any replacement parts for other cases out there I could make work or just material that I could use to make my own? Any info like that would be much appreciated.
  16. -If this doesn't belong in this subforum, go ahead and move it.- My dad has been asking me for awhile to figure out what's wrong with this old Intel board I have that has a Core 2 Duo E8400 and 3GB of RAM. It was throwing beep codes last time I messed with it so I figured I'd try again. So I got everything setup on a mobo box, went to boot and no display or power to peripherals. I unplugged everything except the board, and one stick of ram. Same thing, except there weren't any beep codes. I tried again with some old 9400GT I have to see if onboard display was bad, same thing. So I pulled all the ram and tried again, everything turned on and still no beep codes. I'm presuming the mobo is dead. Anyways, I have another LGA 775 mobo in a case with everything hooked up ready to go, except it was missing a CPU. So I checked and it said it was compatible with C2Ds so I swapped it over from my dead board to that one. Got everything in and ready to go. Hit the power button, sat back and let it start to boot, then I smell something burning. I look around then back at the case and lone behold a chip on the motherboard is glowing red. Powered everything down and I'm not even gonna touch that now. So yeah, what a fun and eventful night for me. One thing I am curious about though, would that E8400 in the mobo that caught on fire be dead too?
  17. The Xeon E3 1231 V3 is basically a Core i7 4770 without the integrated GPU and 100MHz lower boost speed for just under $60 less. I'd get the Xeon if I were you when you do get around to upgrading your CPU. And honestly, 65C isn't that high of a temp. I wouldn't bother spending any money on a new cooler and just keep saving up.
  18. I actually measured it. It's roughly 6.5 inches (165mm) from the motherboard to side of the case where the side panel would slide in. So that opens up some options
  19. My friend who has the QX9650 has a 212 Evo, he's hitting over 70C on stress testing (granted it is at 3.9GHz and 1.4v) so I'm not too confident in my T2. I might have to open up my case and measure exactly what I could fit in there haha. I like the look of the Cryorig H7 but it doesn't have support for LGA 775
  20. I currently have a Cooler Master Hyper T2 cooling a Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 3.53GHz. It gets pretty hot under stress testing (roughly 70C). Pretty soon I'm going to be getting a QX9650, so I will need some beefier cooling. The only problem is I have a Corsair 100R which doesn't allow for super tall CPU Coolers (150mm max according to Corsair, but I've heard of people putting Hyper 212 Evos in them). I'd like to keep the price around or under $60. I was looking at this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835709018 but other recommendations would be great.
  21. I have the AD500Xs, they're very open and I've been loving them since I got them. I'd recommend that series of headphones too. Hopefully the cord isn't the same as the 500Xs though.
