  1. Hello, I am looking for a portable audio recording setup for E3. I plan on recording small bits of video with my Canon Rebel T3i, but the onboard microphone definitely isn't going to work in a large crowd environment. I want to be able to raise a mic to my face to record pretty solid audio, but also be able to hand a microphone to others close by without attracting a ton of crowd noise. Obviously there's going to be some of it So far I've been thinking about either a lavaliere plugged into a digital recorder like this (http://www.amazon.com/TASCAM-DR-05-Portable-Digital-Recorder/dp/B004OU2IQG?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&redirect=true&ref_=s9_simh_gw_g267_i1_r) OR a standard mic plugged into a digital recorder. Of course I wouldn't be able to record others if I had a lavaliere, but if that's the better option that I might want to go that route. Which setup should I go for and what specific items should I get? Price is not a huge issue, I just want to keep under $300 or $400 for the setup. Any advice from anyone with experience recording audio in crowded environments would be much appreciated! Thanks, JV

  3. Thank you for the response! I'm curious though about the CPU because Oculus' own compatibility check failed mine. Are you saying that mine should still work even though it failed the check? Also while I'm here, do you know if my motherboard supports a USB 3.0 expansion? I already have USB 3.0 but apparently mine just doesn't work with Oculus.
  4. Hey guys, I'm relatively new to VR but I got the chance to play some really exciting new Oculus games that will be revealed on Monday. I was so impressed with the technology that I have to go ahead and buy it. The problem is that my machine fails the compatibility check in the following catagories: graphics card (GTX 960), processor (i7-2600k), and USB (Etron USB 3.0). Here (http://imgur.com/a/osMP8) is a full look at my rig using CPU-Z. So here are my questions I'm hoping you all can help with: * Should I try and buy separate parts and upgrade my PC to handle Oculus Rift? * Is it more cost effective/easier to buy a new Rift ready PC bundled to save some money? This (http://www.amazon.com/Oculus-Rift-Ready-G11CD-WS51-Desktop-Bundle/dp/B01BHFI4XG) is the bundle I'm looking it. * Will Rift ready PCs handle Premiere Pro and Photoshop just as well as my current rig? I use them for work daily. Thanks in advance!
  5. I've got CPU-Z on my computer, so I attached some screenshots so you can see my specs (I'm not that tech savvy so it would be hard for me to explain). I looked on the Gigabyte website and found that my motherboard is only compatible with DDR3 2133/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules. I don't know which is best, but it would seem that the highest speed of 2133 MHz would be better than the rest? This Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 2133 MHz (PC3 17000) Desktop [http://amzn.to/1LsSUJX] is what I found on Amazon that seems like it is the best option, but I'm just not sure. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Just a little context, I edit video in Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop daily and sometimes would like to use them at the same time. My current rig has a hard time pulling that off. I also record PC games using DXtory and stream using OBS with dual monitors. Would upgrading to 16GB allow me to multitask and handle these things easier? That's the reason I'm wanting to upgrade. Thanks for your time!
