  1. From what i found is that the thunderbolt 3 motherboards for ryzen is really expensive. So unless there is a magical board that supports thunderbolt that i don’t know of, its cheaper going intel And I feel that not having the port on the board and having to run cables outside of the case feels kind of wierd.
  2. Budget (including currency): 10k nok Country: Norway Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, Having fun with hw and audio engeneering stuff. Other details: Current specs: i5 8600k Cpu 16gb 3200mhz cl16 vengeance lpx ram Maximus x hero motherboard 1000w seasonic platinum psu 980 strix gpu 1tb 660p ssd Looking into upgrading my pc to getting thunderbolt 3. the performance of the pc is fine even tho i find the performance of my 8600k to feel simular to my old 3820, might be the lack of ht? The reason for upgrading i the need for thunderbolt ports. I want a out of the box solution for it, due to having horrible luck finding every single bug in the existence. I’m also kinda a silent freak when it comes to my pc, so not to keen on having a loud chipsetfan. So looking into getting the best value to upgrade, that still checks the thunderbolt 3 box. I kinda want to go ryzen, but that looks to be more expensive(?) than going with say a i5 10600k and a asus z490 proart motherboard.
  3. Hi, havent posted in a long time, but stuff is happening. Have a goal to make my main rig as sikrnt as humanly possible, while still maintaining performance, and not breaking the bank. So i orderd a new case, some new fans and a new cpu cooles. Aswell as bough some noise dampening mats for cars. The plan is to out one more layer og foam on top of them aswell, as im not 100% happy with the resoult. I'm allso thinking about maby building shrouds to separate the gpu airflow and cpu airflow. Need a tad bit more work at the back to get it 100% aswell The specs are: i7 3820 cpu p9x79-e ws motherboard 16gb patriot viper ram 256gb crucial m4 ssd 980 strix gpu 1000w seasonic platinum psu noctua nh-d15 cpu cooler noctua nf-a14 in the front and nf-f12 in the back. -Frufsa
  4. A lot of things has happend since last time. New PSU, now a owner of a lovely seasonic platinum 1000w New GPU, now theres a 980 Strix in the rig. And theres allso some new lovely NF-F12 fans. Not hating on the eLoops or annything, just wanted to try something diffrent, so then NF-F12's Now i really need a new case, the Node is just to small, so now my amp is the top cover of the PC, not ideal at all!! So now I'm just waiting for the Streacom F12C to be available. Annyway, heres a pic of the system
  5. Naaaah, they dont need, it. No need for that huge prosessor to game Farmingsimulator. The 920 is overkill for that to. When the pc is not usable annymore, they will gett my SR-2 rigg
  6. Thanks. Now for some updated and bether pics:
  7. I have now tried to use the PCI slot on the MoBo that doesnt run through the PLX chip, with the same result, I'm getting the B2 error code.
  8. Tried with a 680 i had lying around: Only 980, no post 980 and 680 no display connected, b2 980 and 680 display connected to 980, b2 980 and 680 display connected to 680, b2 Only 680, booted just fine, even without display connected. And just to point it out, the 980 card works just fine in annother rig. So I know the card is working.
  9. Have tried the 1601 bios(latest bios for my mobo), will try with 2 gpus in some minutes.
  10. Not now, now I'm on the 1501 bios, legit review used it to test 980 card so thougt I'd give it a shot. But have tried the latest (1601) bios Cant, needed tl modify the case to get the card inn, so it only fits in one pci slot. But my old 760 card works kn that slot.
  11. Have tried no connections, displayport, hdmi and dvi, bot still no post, and error code b2.
  12. Hi. Having a problem getting a 980 strix card to work with my p9x79-E WS motherboard. I kown the card is working, have tried it in another pc. I know the rest of the pc is working, my old card works just fine. I know my psu is big enough (1000w) Have tried the 1501 bios, and the 1601 bios. Have tried to clear cmos. Have flashed the bios several times. But no mather what i do, I end up with an qcode saing "b2"(62?) and the vga led on the mobo starts to light up(the one signalizing a problem with the gpu). Abd no image on the screen what so ever. TL;DR: 980 and p9x79-e ws not working together, error code b2.
  13. Dont want it to say "noctua" upside down Thanks
  14. So i desided to put some of my old stuff together and put it in a rigg to give to the familiy for christmas. The rig is 90% done. And all the cables are connected, need to do a tiny bit more cablemanagement, rotate the cpu cooler and innstall a fan on the cpu cooler if nessesarry. Specs: i7 920 evga x58 classified 12gb vengeance nh-d14 corsair rm750 GTX 760 DC2 NB eLoop fans 128gb crucial m4 ssd 3tb WD red HDD All inn a nzxt s340 case.
  15. Not in that case. He moves the pc around a lot, thats why he changed the case to.
