  1. Hello. I'm helping someone find a good screen for UI/UX as they are starting and in addition they are drawing too. The problem I have is the price point but also... Size. She doesn't like big screens and the best ones she described as laptop size Xx" From my research until now I'm thinking IPS display 21" and lower and best being around 18". Though finding the smaller size screen is tricky as most I found are 5:4 ratio and those don't strike me as best bet and not that many.. What I found that would probably work quite well for her in terms of size would be AOC I1601FWUX as it's only 15.6" IPS, 1920 x 1080. It's on the more expensive side being 200$ over here in Poland. It also has brightness of 220cd/m^2 which brings another question.. Should the "ideal" monitor have higher brightness? I would like help with finding displays in 2 price points: -One around 128$ -Most that it can cost being 200$ And if there are any used ones that I could try to look for ^ ^" New are best bet obviously but I also know that sometimes buying used is better. Thanks for help in advance.
  2. Honestly. I have no idea haha. I'm used to 60hz and displays with terrible brightness or ones that are square. Higher refresh rate would be nice for gaming, and ultrawide for productivity. I tried looking for some and yeah... there's a lot of monitors in that bracket.
  3. Hello, After my display (Dell 1908) decided it can't take upscaled 1080p input from WII... I decided it's time to think about buying finally a proper monitor instead of used ones like the one I have now. >>" What I would be using it for: -Gaming of course -Slight picture editing and digital art. -Hopefully being able to hook up into it consoles (new and old) with or without converters -Programming, writing. (Writing may be obvious but let's put all info!) -Watching movies. It doesn't need to have built in speakers, usb hub etc. I won't mind it being just display with no extra fancy stands, colors etc. The budget is 250$ as max.. Unless there's something worth performance wise or such for just a bit more. I would prefer to stay around 200$ if there's not much difference between those 2 price points.
  4. Now to just find some good brand making adapters and see if they are within price range.
  5. After a bit of more research or better said "luck" saw information about Pentax K mount.. Before it wasn't even mentioned when I searched. Looks similar to it. In few can get more pictures of it. And the info about conversion isn't nice.. But well there's still macro.
  6. Hello o/ Today on flea market here in Poland I've found two lenses from which I took one. As I expected it won't probably fit my Nikon D3300. I tried googling more about it and from what I got it's probably "Sigma MF 28-70 mm f/ 3.5-4.5 MC Zoom-Epsilon Lens" but it had all kinds of mounts. I'm newbie in terms of photography and such I have only the basic kit. I saw the lens and felt like I need it but without adapter won't be able to. And yes. I know that Sigma offers conversion but adapter would fit other lenses in future too so that's my reasoning. Oh and I know that adapter will be prob more than those 12$ that I paid for this lens. And if anyone knows if it's that lens and price, it would be just nice to know. Don't think I will be selling it soon anyway.
  7. Tried to change few things with upgrading in mind in the future. Slightly over budget and without the case... but I think it would be better deal overall, could anyone say if something could/should be changed? 8. Maybe it would be worth to scratch from the build case and SSD? Put that into better gear overall and just go with 2TB HDD? Trying to find better deal on things because it could always end in old case or self made for the time. Also I was hoping someone else would also chime in with some ideas.
  9. Considering that CPU/GPU is harder to upgrade and usually isn't needed for some time if build is done correctly maybe get rid of SSD and put it into other components? That would leave just HDD, it would slow down PC but would cut price at least if price gap isn't enough to get something better.
  10. That's what I'm not so sure about. I would guess that 3D modelling uses both CPU and GPU resources. My lack of knowledge in this topic is one of few reasons I wrote here.
  11. Hello there. I need help with planning PC for my friend. At the moment she uses cheap laptop that makes it unable to run any program for drawing on higher resolution of canvas. 1. Budget & Location We live in Poland but for sake of it being easier for everyone the budget is 600$US. If going over the budget would make significant difference that would be worth saving for lets keep it at 600$US maximum. 2. Aim She wants to do digital drawings and to get into 3D modelling. In the free time she likes to play games but if I would have to choose resolution I would say there is no need to go over 1080p for gaming (If 1080p is even possible for this price point). I'm not sure how much difference it would make on future upgradeability to go with smaller form factor like micro-ATX. Micro-ATX came up as idea because we would like for this system to be more portable than standard midi case. The case design and size we liked is Corsair Carbide AIR 240, so it could be used as an example but it doesn't need to stay as the case of choice if there are better ones out there. 3. Monitors Only one and at the moment getting the PC itself is more important for her than new monitor, but I would like to see proposed monitor for this type of work outside of the budget but at reasonable price. Even if it would mean to have better idea what to look for in one in the future when upgrade for it would happen. And yes I know that the current old monitor will be "bottleneck" of sorts due to lower resolution and such. 4. Peripherals There is no need for OS and any other peripherals to be included in the price. 5. Why are you upgrading? During drawing on laptop CPU usage goes up to 100% and also due to low memory on low end laptop it crashes the app or makes it freeze forever ending with loss of time and progress on drawing. Thanks in advance for responses.
  12. I'm not sure if it's the most perfect place to post it but.. it should work.. I hope. I have no idea about choosing those so here I am for help. After using it for a little while I feel like the original keycaps are too smooth for my taste and I like the few textured ones that are included way more. Are there any good quality keycaps that are textured and maybe work with RGB lighting? I don't really care about RGB part though so it doesn't need to be priority. As for design as much as I care they can be even blank but I want them in black color and being textured. And yes I understand that I won't be able to be sure if I like the keycaps or not due to not being able to touch them in person.
  13. I was hesitated before buying K70 LUX RGB because it was rather large sum of money spent on keyboard. It's my only experience with mechanical keyboard and after some research I went with brown switches so can't compare it to anything else. So I will focus just on this specific model of keyboard from them. Software wise: Lighting can be kinda tricky to understand if you want to set up it just by yourself without guides but it's not something that can't be understood if you play with it for few minutes. Recording macros seems fine while comparing to recording macros using Synapse for Razer Naga 2014. CUE has advantage in my eyes in this place because of being able to record mouse movements. Software gives you demo of customizing other peripherals that you don't have for example so you could see how it works out. TL:DR I think it was good decision and I don't regret spending that amount of money. It feels good, works and design is very nice. Only thing that can push off people is font used. Hardware: It's sturdy thanks to used aluminium frame which is great. Lighting is nice to eye and consistent though spacebar has only lighting in the middle of it which for some people can be a bad thing. Media keys are on the level of the frame when number pad keys are raised (as others) which means you need to push your fingers above number pad and down which can result in weird positioning of hand. Volume control on the other hand is very nice and doesn't have the same problem as media keys. Having USB pass through is nice addition but it makes the cable of K70 thicker and means that you need to use both of the USB at the end of cable coming from keyboard. Yes the main cable splits into 2 USB connectors where one is only for pass through and second is for keyboard. And it's not detachable. In box they give you additional textured keys (WASD, QWERFD) but spacebar is the only textured keycap that is avaible from start. Addition of windows key lock is nice and it can be set to prevent ALT+TAB, ALT+F4,SHIFT+TAB from executing if you decide on that. Detachable wrist rest texture is nice and it does it's job. I think I.. said everything I could. I hope at least it was somehow useful.
  14. I used both Playstation and Xbox controlers and in my opinion I would go with Xbox 360 controller. I played on PS from when the first came out and changed to xbox360 instead of getting PS3 and.. in my hands it just feels better. Can't say anything about newer gen controllers though. And about compatibility of wireless 360 controller. Didn't have any problems and if I want to make custom setup for example MMO it can be done as easily on Xbox and Playstation controller using xpadder.
  15. Forgot to say that I would later overclock it. I will do but first the temps of my CPU are pretty high. ><" And with what I was doing I wasn't in need for more RAM but those were just minor games and obs. That's why I'm asking if anything will be in need of upgrade later down the line.
