  1. It is. It is basically vsync without limiting/destroying your frames. No screen tearing what so ever.
  2. I actually run most games fine at 1440p with a 970, so you should have no problem with running them at 1440 with a 1070. The only reason I think the 1080p looks so terrible is because i got used to the 1440p, and will probably not switch back.
  3. I know they are dell monitors, but I have the 1440p one and it has been fantastic thus far. Also, you need amazon prime to get it cheaper, and if you don't have prime make a new amazon account and get prime for free for a month. It's worth. 1440p 144hz G-Sync - $390 (With Prime) - At the time of this post Similar Looking 1080p Dell Monitor - $225 (With Prime) - At the time of this post I don't personally own the 1080p one but the reviews seem good enough. The 1440p one is great for the price. I realize it goes a bit over your budget, but they both are vesa compatible. If you want you could go to 1080p like you said in your post, I feel the 1440p is a huge improvement in quality though.
  4. I've been in the market for a new PC for a while now, and want to sell my current one to help out with the costs. Before you yell at me, I do realize this PC is still viable, I just want something for 1440p/4k. Specs of the PC I'm selling: CPU - i5-4690k @ 4.2Ghz Cooler - Corsair H60 GPU - MSI GTX 970 Motherboard - MSI Z97 (PC Mate I think?) Memory - G.Skill Ares 16GB (DDR3 2400) Storage: ZOTAC 120GB SSD / WD Blue 1TB Case: NZXT Source 210 Out first I felt $650 was reasonable, but as I only pay attention to new-age hardware prices and couldn't give a rats ass about the old stuff, I actually have no idea what this system is worth. Any recommendations for prices? Also, the PC is only about 2 years old, maybe 3. Don't know the exact date I got it.
  5. I'm getting a new PC very soon, and I'm trying to decide on which to get. I have two builds setup already, and I can order the parts as soon as I figure out which PC I want to get. One of the builds is completely AMD, the other is Intel + Nvidia I've set up a spreadsheet with both of the builds, any tips would be appreciated. I didn't want to go too far over $900 for the Intel build, but it's not too far over. I've heard that the AMD GPU doesn't have much of a difference from the 970, but I haven't done much research, however, I've heard that the i5 is way better for games that don't use all 8 cores of the cpu, which the only ones I know of that are out right now are BF4 and Arma 3, which I do plan on playing, but I would rather get better performance on basically every other game that I have. Again, any tips would be appreciated, and I don't really want to go over the price of the Intel build, but if I have to, I'm willing. Side note: I've already got an HDD/Case/Power supply with me that I'm 100% using, which is why they're not on the sheet.
