Hi everyone,
I've only been having this issue for about two to three days, and it's occurred on both my desktop and my laptop. On both of those computer's I recently installed a new copy of Windows 10.
Background information:
Laptop: Dell XPS 13 9343, Microsoft WIndows 10 Pro
Desktop:
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Processor: Intel 97-4790K @ 4.00GHz
GPUs: 2 x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti
Motherboard is ASUS (not a high-end one, I forget since it was a replacement motherboard for a broken mobo)
What happened:
I first noticed it on my laptop. I woke up one morning and saw that the uptime was about 24 hours, despite having shut it down multiple times since then (not putting it to sleep—fully shutting it down). After installing the chipset drivers and everything, it still didn't work. So, I've just resorted to calling
shutdown /s
From the command line, which seems to resolve the issue.
After a day or two, I checked the uptime on my desktop since, when logging on, an explorer window was open already for some reason. I saw that my computer had been running for two days straight (despite having shut it down multiple times). An image is attached. The shutdown /s command also works in totally shutting off the computer.
I installed Windows 10 on both computers via the same USB using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool.
Does anybody know what the problem could be?
