  1. I'm not at the laptop rn, but I believe repairing the OS said I had to do it through windows after booting (which I can't do) or wipe all data. This honestly might save me the headache of troubleshooting more, but I'm worried its not the SSHD bc chkdsk said it was AOK
  2. I cant indeed get into BIOS and have the option to boot from a USB (no disk drive). Maybe I didnt put the right files on my USB but it said it would wipe all data that way
  3. Hello and sorry in advance for a question asked a million times in a million different ways. Using Lenovo Y50 windows 10. My laptop was working flawlessly until i shut it off for a weekend. On Monday I turned it on normally and it BSOD right after the Lenovo logo (stop code 0xc000021a). I though maybe it was a problem with reading my SSHD so I ran chkdsk /f /r and /x which took 6 hours to tell me my SSHD is functioning normally and is healthy. So then I switched RAM, tried only one, then the other. Same issue or didn't even boot/ended in a loop. I tried booting off a USB, but it told me I'd have to wipe all data, which I want to avoid. I still have to plug my SSHD into my desktop to see if the drive is accessible, in that case I want to replace the SSHD with an SSD, but that might not even solve the issue if it's not a drive issue. Any other tips/troubleshooting you'd recommend before I waste more time with the drive aspect? Thanks so much. Edit with what I've tried: - unplugging and re-setting all connections for SSHD, battery, etc. - booting with laptop plugged in and unplugged. - more to come.
  4. I have a 780 FTW card that I'm gonna wanna sell now that I have a 1080ti. I plan to sell on FB marketplace locally (been attempted ripped off with shipping once) and I'm wondering how much I should put as starting price, $150?
  5. Also very good options! Good call. I personally wanted fully modular though
  6. $59.99 power supply is on sale until Monday (9/25/17) for $39.99, after mail in rebate. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095
  7. are you sure? I'm just going by what's stated on the box (600W recommended) Awesome, I saw the 650W version on newegg for $70 after rebate card, but I'm not able to get out to microcenter, so I may buy this one since I can't wait :'( https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817438026
  8. unfortunately can't wait, I want to order today with 2 day shipping since I already have my graphics card looking at me waiting to be installed, and I also don't want non-modular, thank you for the recommendations though!
  9. Honestly I wanted more that 600w, preferably 650, not sure if I wanna risk it with 550
  10. I have a 1080ti, 4670k based build in the meantime until I get DDR4 in a half a year or so. In the meantime, I need a new power supply since I lost all of the 8 pins from the one I have now. I've been meaning to upgrade anyway, so what are some of my options? Must be semi/fully modular, although I'd prefer fully. My budget is under $70 and as cheap as possible, but this card was expensive so I don't wanna buy crap. Thanks for any recommendations.
  11. Looks matter a tiny bit to me, but right now I'm all for performance. Right now I have a 4670K and in a year I plan to upgrade to the new cpus (whatever is out at that time) and ram mobo etc. but I plan to keep this card to future proof myself a bit. Yeah i need it, I have a 4K display I'm trying to push and I'm being limited pretty exclusively to my GPU. Yeah I figured my cpu will bottle neck my rig a little bit, but thesse are just stepping stones to next years where I can upgrade the rest of my rig. And i'm not gonna wait to do it all at once. I can't stand being limited by 780 and vram and etc. etc. Hm, I'd have to research but would you happen to have any links to the ones you've read so I can take a look in case I cant find any?
  12. Haha of course but im also on a budget getting ready to head back to school for another 2 semesters. Do you think its a steal at this price for the non-xtreme?
  13. So there's a massdrop right now for a 1080ti Aorus edition for $660. I want this card but want the best performance and was looking at the xtreme edition. The only difference is that the xtreme editions are binned from gigabyte right? Should I hop on this deal?
  14. TEMPORARY FIX: I started running in fullscreen windowed (borderless) and it works pretty good. Does anyone know why this happens?
  15. Display port 1.2 sorry should've mentioned that
  16. So i've been playing PUBG with my 780ti on 1440p on my 4k monitor and today I decided I want to try 4k just to see what its like, even with bad fps. My problem comes when I switch to 4k in the options at the main menu. As soon as it switches, it looks like my mouse is moving at 30hz, even though my fps counter is reading 60+. Now I haven't tested this in game yet, but i figure since it doesn't even work at the main menu it wouldn't work in the game. Any help?
  17. samsung u28e590d for $279, so worth
  18. Hi guys I want to use my 27" 4k monitor as a TV (for use with Netflix) and I find it inconvenient to have to stand up to change volume/power so I'd like to add an IR receiver somewhere on the monitor in order to change the volume of the monitor or speakers. Any help?
  19. I'm replacing my 24" 1080p monitor and want to upgrade size, but keep it manageable. I'm looking for a 4k resolution monitor (EDIT) that is 32" (originally was on the fence about 27/28" vs. 32", but due to the fact that I like to watch Netflix in bed, I'm gonna go with the 32"). Must be 60hz and have good response for gaming. The only catch is I'm on a budget and would like to spend as close to $500 as I can, if not less. Thanks!
  20. Thanks for your recommendation but is it necessary? What's the in game difference that cpu would bring
  21. Hello all! So I'm planning on upgrading my old 1080p bleeding edge monitor for a new 4K monitor at the end of the summer. My current build (if you can't see my signature) is an i5 4670K and a 780ti on an ASUS Gryphon with 8gb ddr3 G.Skill Sniper ram. I plan to upgrade to either a 1080 or 1080ti along with the monitor, but is the rest of my build good to go? I don't know anything about ddr4 ram but I figure I'll need a new motherboard for that, which I don't want to do. Any input would be appreciated! Also, sorry if this is in the wrong subforum
  22. the prodigy M? I didn't know they came with windows
  23. I like it but I feel like for what it lacks in vertical height it makes up for in width. My brother has one and it wouldn't be a good fit for me at college, thanks though!
  24. I have had a corsair 350d for 2 years now and I'm sick of lugging it back and forth to college, the size/weight isnt worth it for having a matx build. I prefer having a window and to be very small. If not a window thats fine, but it definitely has to be small and use the components I already have. Thanks.
