  1. Hello there guys..!! I was bored for the past one hour or so and decided to do a bit research and put together a $300 gaming rig with peripherals!!! This system is not for high end gaming but just having a playable experience on medium or low settings in most of the games. I just want the opinion and any edits or suggestions on this build. I will not be building this, it is just for some fun and to kill some time. 2. I would love to have the Sagitta Spectrum Mouse because it has good dpi(which I am desperately in need of) and it also has programmable keys both these features will surely help me be more productive and RBG lighting is a boon. I currently have some useless wired mouse.
  3. 1)Pretty much yes considering your the only user. 2)RAID 10 will be easily possible without the requirement of a RAID CARD. 3)WD reds they are meant & optimized for NAS. 4)Yes & you can install and run games as well as programs.
  4. For RAID 6 you definitely need a RAID CARD. I recommend getting a Xeon E5-2620V3. This CPU is much more powerful than E5-2603v3. Also, note neither the processor nor the MoBo you have chosen has on-board graphics so you will have to buy some cheap used Graphics Card.
  5. The case is a little random, other than that this is beastly rig. 6. You will have many bottlenecks as your PC is quite old, especially with your Graphcs Card & SSD because if I am not wrong your MoBo doesn't have SATA 3 port. It would be much better if you save some money, sell your current rig and get a completely new rig.
  7. Yes that is right, Mobos with 'LGA 2011 R3' are just the same as 'LGA 2011 v3'. I didnt even notice I suggested one of them :-P
  8. I am not a graphics card expert :-P The Hyper evo 212 is one of the best CPU Cooler that is there in the market, it is definitely not overpriced, it is not very loud as far as I know.
  9. SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SRL-F Server Motherboard LGA 2011 R3 ASUS P9X79 WS LGA 2011 Intel X79 Check this out >>>> http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100007629%20600287814%20600016286%20600287817%20600453194
  10. For CPU I would recommend Xeon E3 1231 V3, It is a great CPU & will be perfect for your build. If you don't want to go such high end then probably you can just stick with i5 4460. For MotherBoard:- You can go for any LGA 1150 board such as GIGABYTE B85M-DS3H-A if you don't require ECC RAM. If you want ECC RAM then may be you can go for ASRock E3C224-V+. RAM:- 8GB (2x4 GB) Storage :- I recommend getting 2/3 WD Red 3TB Storage as these have the best per GB costs. PSU:- Choose the most reliable PSU even if it costs more, trust me it will be worth it. GPU:- if you choose to get the Xeon processor, then you will require a Graphics Card as the processor does not come with integrated Graphics, you can either get a MoBo with OnBoard Graphics or buy some cheap used GTX 610. You can choose to get a RAID card if you want to have RAID 5 or 6, but I wouldn't recommend such complex stuff considering it is your first build.
  11. Here's What I recommend you to get. 1) Processor :- i5 6600K. 2)MotherBoard :- GIGABYTE Z170-D3H 3) RAM :- 8 GB(2x4). Crucial/ADATA/Corsair/G.Skill any one of these brands, I'd personally go with Corsair. 4)Cooler :- Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212 5) Graphics Card:- GTX 960 or R9 380 6) Storage :- Crucial (BX100) 250GB SSd & WD Blue 1TB 7) Case :- Go for Fractal Design Define R5 Blackout Edition only if you want your PC to be silent(although there won't be any great amount of difference). I'd recommend you to rather go for Corsair Carbide 200R. 8)PSU :- The Power Supply you chose was definitely an overkill, you will definitely not require that much of wattage unless you plan to have SLI/CF in the future. Even then I would not recommend buying a higher watt PSU considering your on a budget. Get a EVGA SuperNova 650W.
