  1. Tested the psu, it works, tested it with only mobo and cpu plugged in, whole computer booted up. Plugged in the sata, the issue cropped up again. So it's definitely the ssd, any fixes that you guys know of? It's not a old ssd, about half a year old Samsung evo 860 1tb.

Could be bad ram. I would try and see if you have a bad stick or bad dim slot.

Unlikely since it was working completely fine for months, it literally turned off while i was in the shower lol built this pc last December aaand has worked flawlessly since but i will test it regardless

Could be an error trying to post but it is weird that it doesn't give an error code. Have you tried turning the psu off and on?

Yea i did a full power reset, unplug and holding power button, all that jazz, helped it "boot" further for the first time around but still no full post or error code from mobo

  4. So i was using my computer, went away to get ready for work i come back and the computer is powered off and won't reboot, the peripherals and mobo are getting power because the rgb is on, but when i hit the power button the fans momentarily spin up and then nothing, no error codes or anything. Advice?

What video card did your friend get?

Make sure the all the PCI-E power connections (if there are any) are properly connected.

Those power cables are REQUIRED, not optional.

Make sure you hook up the monitor to the video card, and not to the back of the motherboard.

he got a gtx 1060 and we tried his old card and it works, he did make sure to plug in the vga cable and monitor into the gpu itself and not the mobo, so we think its a dead card and hes gonna get it RMAd.

4 beeps would indicate a Real Time Clock (RTC) malfunction Error.

    Try clearing the CMOS.

    • Turn off AND unplug the computer from the wall socket
    • Take out the button cell battery (the silver circular thing) for ~10 minutes
    • Put the battery back in
    • Plug in the computer, and try again

so update, we got it working and a new bios installed, we ended up using onboard groaphics with no gpu inserted and it booted into windows and we got a new bios version installed, now hes using his new gpu and there no post code error but the gpu fans arent spinning and there is no display, but it powers on.

  7. we also tried going back to the old ram and old gpu, no luck there. havent tried the old psu but i dont think that would be the issue since it was a really old crappy psu in the first place and wasnt even enough to power his old components, the fact that he was even able to use his pc the way it was was a miracle.

  8. so my buddy just upgraded his computer, new gpu, new ram and a new psu, psu worked but he got continuous post code beeps and no actual post but power was being supplied to the system, his grandpa told him to reset his bios so he did and now nothing works, he gets a splash screen but after it goes through the post code he gets a black screen, he has a gigabyte board unknown model, and he get a 4 beep post code error. any suggestions?

  9. cpu- ryzen 1600x

    aio-thermaltake floe riing 360

    motherboard-asrock x470 taichi

fans- 3 case fans,3 radiotor top mounted fans. (case fans are slightly larger in size compared to radiator.

fan config- 2 intake, one rear out, 3 top mounted radiator fans pushing out.

    case- thermaltake view 71.

  10. So i just got done building my new rig, works well but i have a issue with temps, my cpu is sitting idle at around 60c which is ridiculous especially since i have a AIO in there as well, i tried reapplying thermal paste, no luck there, fans on the radiator spin as normal and are ejecting air through the radiator and out the top of the case. I cant figure this out, help?

Sure. Just make sure that you have very good backups of anything you don't want to lose BEFORE attempting the move.

also as a note when i first built this older pc i moved over a old drive, same cpu, different mobo and it didnt have issues but this time its a totally new system so i didn't know if a different cpu would also make a difference which it probably will since different cpu drivers since im going from a intel based board to a amd ryzen board.

yup definitely got that done, i recently got this ssd on the new computer so i still have the files on a flash drive. the thing i mainly want to avoid is reinstalling all of my games because there over 800 gigs of games currently installed and it would be kind of a pain to have to reinstall them x.x

Best is to wipe the drive and reinstall.

There are reports that Windows 10 can do a decent job recognizing significant hardware changes and adjusting its configuration.

so you think i could try installing without wiping and see if it works first? and if it doesnt then go back and reformat?

  14. i plan on moving my old ssd to my new build with the os on it and everything, i have a new key, i just want to know if i need to wipe everything before moving it over or if i dont need to wipe it at all, google has been very back and forth on this topic so i wanna know what you guys think about it. thanks :)

  15. what i have so far and my budget is around 1550, cant go any higher so im reeeally close but i need to lower something here.
