MacBook Pro Help
Stepanos replied to Catastrophe114's topic in Linux, macOS and Everything Not-Windows
Quick question, is the issue present when the MacBook is connected to AC power? Or does it creep up when the MacBook is on battery power? -
Ah! But many users, up to this very day, are still experiencing massive bugs regarding driver corruptions and Windows Apps deleting themselves/no longer opening. I'm just looking out for the young man! I personally wouldn't upgrade until Microsoft comes out and says "Okay! We've fixed these bugs. Enjoy!" but as of February 2016, the Windows app bug is still a fun-stopping experience.

If you mean you'll be using the bundled Windows Recovery "Reset my PC" function and say you're keeping no data, I'd say a while. I had to do it on one of my old work computers because all of the windows apps broke and it took about 5 hours. Your mileage may vary however.

No. Wait until the Windows 10 equivalent of a Service Pack. Win10 is still too buggy to be considered a daily driver/reliable OS.

Converting My old 2007 Macbook

1. All Bootcamp does is partition the drive and download drivers necessary to install Windows. I don't think it does anything with Linux. If you want to resize partitions, you can just use Cmd + R at boot up to log into the recovery Disk Utility and resize your partitions from there. 2. CD/DVD would be best in a C2D machine. For shits and giggles, try creating a bootable Mac OS X USB drive in OS X and see if you can boot with in by holding option right as the Mac chime sounds on startup (before you see the Apple logo) 3. Provided you only need the basic keys and not the additional driver required features, a USB keyboard will work fine as it will be recognized by the kernel as a generic PnP keyboard. 4 and 5 are out of my expertise range. I always recommend Ubuntu for linux distros because thats what I always used. -
Sometime before the launch of Windows 10, Microsoft started allowing persons to download Windows Installation Media directly from their website. You will need a valid product key, and it will only give you the version of Windows the key is provided for. You can find this website HERE: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (MAudioMTrack.sys) Meaning?
Stepanos replied to Dougieman1001's topic in Windows
I've had this same issue occur with a Dell XPS 15 and its onboard Realtek audio. Something broke your audio drivers/codecs. Usually it's Microsoft Update. For example: on the XPS 15 I noticed in the system log that it turned itself on at 4am and started updating things. Lo and behold when my client tried to use his computer at 8am, it would not start. Since Windows Recovery still works (the Failed to Start error is the Recovery), find the option that says Refresh my PC. If you updated to the latest build of Win10, Refresh my PC might have been renamed to Reset my PC, in which case when you click on it, simply select Keep my Data and allow Windows to reinstall itself. -
There are still many many issues with Windows 10. I recommend saving all of your data and downgrading either back to 8.1 or to Windows 7. Wait until Service Pack 1 launches before you return to Windows 10.

Your battery seems fine. You might need to replace it within the next year or so (depending how fast you get to 1000 cycles) but it doesn't seem like your battery would cause any down clocking or speed issues. Do you have any other questions?

He frequents Craigslist, and the one in BC seems to be a whole lot friendlier than the one in NYC! Besides, the team has had insane strokes of luck on CL! Yay @LinusTech -
