  1. I did, it may be the PSU fan rattling and clicking.
  2. My motherboard doesn't have any fans. I think the sound is louder near the PSU, however when I did the paperclip test outside the PC the sound was gone. After some research online I found some users suggesting that a screw holding the exterior bracket above the fan could become loose and make that noise. Or that dust could get in the PSU and make it sound like that. So I think I will use some compressed air and tighten the screws a bit. In the meanwhile, while doing nothing to the PC I booted it and now the noise is completely gone.
  3. The PSU is a Corsair RMx 750x. The paperclip test: https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025085372-How-to-Test-a-PSU-Power-Supply-Unit-

  5. Hello everyone, Some days ago my desktop started having a clicking noise coming from somewhere. My first thought were the fans, so I tested them individually, I even disconnected them and they were not the problem. My PC does not have any HDDs installed. Then I disconnected the GPU to check if the sound was coming from it but it wasn't. The sound was still persistent when I booted the PC. Then when I tried to boot the PC the next day it wasn't turning on, which was strange because the previous day it was turning on normally despite the sound. After reseating every cable the PC booted but the sound was there still. I did the paperclip test to test the PSU and the fan spinned normally without making any noise. So I don't know what's going on. Could it be a bad PSU? Or is it possible that the noise is coming from the motherboard? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks
  6. That's what it sounds like and its worse when under load. I think its definitely louder near the PSU. psu.mp4
  7. Removed the GPU again just to check, the sound is still there.
  8. Did the paper clip test and the fan was spinning. So I guess it's not the PSU? Afterwards I connected everything again just to check and the PC booted normally but the clicking sound was audible again. Any idea what's going on? Thank you for your help

  10. Hello everyone, A few days ago I started noticing a clicking sound coming from my desktop. I have a suspicion that it was the PSU. After I troubleshooted, disconnected and reconnected everything, removed the GPU to rule out it being the problem the sound persisted. The next day the sound was gone by itself. I didn't use my PC over the weekend and today when I tried to turn it on it was dead. Although, I noticed that the light for the ethernet connection in the back was on. Do you think it is a faulty PSU? Any answers are much appreciated Thanks
  11. I did, it's not the fans. I don't have another PSU to check but the sound stopped by itself. Is there something I can do to check the PSU?
  12. It is an air cooler but it definitely isn't a fan, I checked.
  13. Hello everyone, Two days ago I started noticing a clicking sound from my pc. At first I thought that it was probably a loose wire hitting on a fan, but when I opened my pc to check it wasn't the case. I removed the GPU completely to rule out a malfunction there but the sound was still audible when I booted the pc. So, is it possible that the PSU is bad? (It is a Corsair RMX 750x) Thanks
