It's my first build in about 5 years and I've been doing research but wanted to get a second opinion on my choices.
My use case is mainly gaming but I'm also a software developer and will be using this for personal projects, the second hard drive is so I can dual boot linux.

Some things I'm wondering about:
Screen Resolution Goals
The benchmarks I've seen for 1440p indicate that I should be getting around 60FPS with the 980, does this tend to hold up in real world scenarios? Should I focus more on 1080p 144Hz?
Monitor
To go along with my previous question about resolution and frame rate, do you have any suggestions for a monitor? I'd like to get a 27'' monitor because I'll be using it for work as well but would also go for a 24''.
Cooling and Overclocking
I'm new to practice of overclocking and don't know if the Hyper 212 is acceptable. My gut tells me I should go with something a bit more complicated, maybe a water cooler like the Corsair H100i
If you have any other questions or suggestions I would love to hear them.
Thanks
