  1. Hello guys! I'm currently helping a friend of mine building his first PC, and everything as been smooth sailing until we were about to install windows on that new bad boy, but the SSD isn't being detected by either the windows media installation tool or the bios itself. I've tried reseating the M.2 in case it wasn't properly seated, didn't help. Also read online that you could try to change the SATA Config from AHCI to IDE, but in the bios option I can only choose between ACHI or Raid. I'm a bit out of ideas as to why it won't detect it. Ryzen 7 5700x Asus TUF A520 Plus Wifi Samsung 980 NVMe 1TB Everything is brand new aswell.
  2. It's my girlfriends MacBook, so can't really answer the first question. I'll try the other one tho! Can't get into recoverymode at all
  3. Hello! The story goes a little something like this MacBook Pro 15 2017 tells me to update to macOS Mojave 10.14.6, I do so and leave the computer alone to update. Come back a while later and the screen is off and I couldn't wake it at all, nothing worked. So I turn it off using the power button and try to restart. Only the fan starts, nothing else at all, no keyborad, toucbar or screen. What happened and more importantly, how do I solve it? If possible I'd like to avoid having to take it to a repairshop. TIA!!
  4. More or less answered your own question. The 7600k and the 3600 are for the most part the same perf wise when speaking strictly about gaming. I would suggest getting a 3070 along with a new PSU if needed. If I'm reading this right you are using 2400 mhz RAM. That's pretty dang slow for todays standards. Be careful and smart when overclocking. Make sure you always have thermal headroom and don't go crazy
  5. I had somewhat of a similar issue, my PC kept rebooting without warning, sometimes after 10 mins, sometimes after 6 hours. Stresstested it, no probs. Played around with random stuffs, sometimes fine, sometimes killed it. Turned out to be a dead SSD. Had my windows on an age old intel 120gb ssd and after 6 years of hard work it gave up. Try another harddrive/SSD I'd say.
  6. Damn that actually sucks so much. Good on you for pointing it out!
  7. Hello guys! As the title states, I am having issues with the refreshrate on my monitor. It can run 3440x1440 @ 100 hz. Which makes sense seeing as how I am running a R9 390, it won't do 144hz at that res. I can do 2560x1080 @ 144hz but no other res. I play a lot of CSGO and while it may be weird, I play at 4:3 stretched, so I am playing at 768p or something, but it will only do 60 or 100 hz at that res. I've tried everything I can find in windows without success. The only res at all, no matter how small or big, that will go above 100 is 2560x1080. Why? And how can I change that?
  8. Looking to get a kit for my GF this christmas, she sings and plays guitar. Been recommended the AT2020 along with some soundcard, but I would like to see more recommendations. She uses a Macbook Pro if that matters. No need for stand, filter etc. Just the XLR mic and soundcard. TIA!
  9. The 2080 ti makes around 120 fps 1440p maxed on most games I'd say, without RT. Don't know how it'll perform with RT and DLSS tho.
  10. I'm looking to upgrade from my old R9 390 to a new GPU, because I'm starting to play more demanding games and recently got myself a 1440p 144hz monitor. I'm rocking a Corsair 380T, which makes it really hard to buy a 3080 for me, because the only ones that'll fit is the FE, which they don't sell at all in Sweden and two of the EVGA models which are insanely expensive. I'm thinking of getting myself a secondhand 2080S or maybe 2080 ti because they are super cheap here now. 2080S I've seen go for as little as 2900 SEK, which is 360 dollars according to google at the time of writing, last week I saw a 2080 ti FE for as little as 4500 SEK. I know these might be crazy good prices but the price doesn't really matter if they don't deliver what I want. I'm looking to play at 3440x1440 at 144 hz and obviously I'd like to compromise as little as possible I guess. Is it worth it getting a 2080S/ti or should I just wait for the 3080 anyway. TIA
  11. If you are not going to overclock then buying a cpu fan is not needed. The included one is good enough!
  12. Budget (including currency): 9-10 000 SEK Country: Sweden Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming and light workloads He's not into the second-hand market unfortunately so brandnew. Only the actual rig, peripherals etc is already taken care of. 1080p gaming. Not a fanboy of anything, so if either intel or amd is better then go with the better option, same for gpu. I've been looking at the 9600kf and 3600 so far and 16 gb memory. I'm very unsure about the mobos on the intel side, which are compatible with what and what the different series offer. I'm much more knowledgable about the amd side because I recently upgraded from first gen skylake to a 3700x. Building the actual machine won't be any issues at all and I've already got everything I need for that. TIA!
  13. Exactly, once windows starts booting it takes 10 sec max, but nothing happends after I press the button for anywhere from 5-25 seconds
  14. I've recently upgraded my rig from Skylake to Zen2. It used to power on the second I would press the powerbutton, but now it takes anywhere from 5 to *25+* seconds before it powers on at all after pressing the power button. Once powered on there's no problems at all. Did I wire something wrong or what is going on? TIA
  15. Holy shit, had no idea! Asked around with no luck. Thanks!!
  16. Your call but a good psu is really important, you don't want to spend money on a new gpu just o fry the hell out of it with a shitty PSU.
  17. Exactly, would've gotten myself a 3080 long time ago but NVIDIA doesn't sell the FE cards in Sweden and that's the only card that'll fit my chassi
  18. We'll just have to see I guess. It'll be exciting but honestly if they can't match a lot of those things it's going to be NVIDIA this gen for me.
  19. Make sure your PSU can handle the new GPU aswell. What's the wattage etc on your PSU
  20. As of writing this, the Big Navi reveal hasn't happened yet. I am looking to upgrade my old R9 390 to a newer GPU. Currently the RTX 3080 is looking very lucrative, but since it's out of stock everywhere I'm not decided yet. If AMD can impress then I have no issues going with AMD. But my dilemma is about the extra things, does AMD have an equivelant to stuff like DLSS 2.0 and other nice-to-haves. The nvenc encoder for streaming etc and raytracing capabilities. I'm probably going to use this GPU for 5+ years so I'd like to have all the nice things I can. I know that these questions might be hard to answer as their presenation is next week, but maybe something has been leaked, so I thought it'd be worth a shot. TIA
  21. For everything you get it's a damn good monitor ngl, been enjoying it A LOT. Hope you get your cable issues sorted!
  22. Oh well, just another reason to get me a 3080, if only they were in stock
  23. Hello guys! I just got my new monitor home, and as the title suggets, it's a Xiaomi Mi 34 Curved Gaming Monitor It's supposed to be running at 3440x1440 @ 144hz but it won't go above 100 hz. My guess is that it's because of my GPU's i/o. All the info I find abou the i/o is contradicting eachother, and the only site that specs it correctly says it's DP 1.2, which should be enough to power that res and hz. I'm using the included cable and I've tried all ports on my gpu and the monitor. I'm starting to wonder what's going on because it won't go into 144hz even at 2560x1080. As it stands right now, I can't try the HDMI 2.0 because my guy has HDMI 1.4 Gigabyte G1 Gaming Radeon R9 390 gpu btw. What's the issue? Why won't it run at 3440x1440 144hz like it's supposed to? TIA
  24. Looking for a monitor in the 600 dollar range. 30+ inch curved 1440p or higher 120hz or higher Fast response time, preferably 1ms HDR if there's budget for it. I have no problem waiting for a good deal black friday/cyber monday etc TIA!
