  1. Thank you. this clears things up for me. So basically getting better cooling could get me higher stable clock speeds? I know there are no guarantees. For example I found this link: http://pctechreviews.com.au/2018/08/01/reviewed-asrock-b450m-pro4-motherboard/ He could get 4.2 ghz stable with same mobo and cpu but an aftermarket cooler.
  2. Hi, I experimented a bit with overclocking my ryzen 5 2600 with the stock cooler for a bit. Just for fun. Not really planning the keep the overclock, but just out of curiosity. The rest of my hardware: Asrock b450m pro4 mobo Seasonic golde 550w cpu rx 580 Samsung 860 SSD I could not get 4100 mhz even with 1.425 volt. The machine would freeze during cinebench r15. This wasn't due to overheating because my temps stayed below 85 c during the benchmark. According to amd this cpu will not throttle under 95 c. I managed to get 4000 mhz with 1.34375 volt. Anything below that voltage would not be stable. This seems a bit high because other people on the internetz tell that they could get 4000 mhz with 1.3 volt stable. Is this just silicon lottery bad luck or is there more going on? By the way, I did replace the stock cooler thermal paste with arctic mx-4 because I messed up the mounting of the cooler the first time ?

I can get the Define S case for €61 so no need to change it. From what I have seen the corsair psu you mentioned is reviewed quite badly. People complain about it making clicking noises. Any other recommendations for PSU?

No gaming. Can I improve this within my budget of 800? Edit: changed from 8GB of ram to 16GB.
