  1. I haven't felt this stupid for a while. When I first 'unplugged every component to make sure it's just the power supply' I didn't realize to unplug things from the other side of the case. After unplugging everything from the PSU end I realized why. The hard drive I had at some point hung there for aesthetical reason is dead. The beeps are actually the needle bouncing around and then giving up. Now I just had connected power to it. I'm an idiot. Sorry for wasting your time. And thanks.
  2. MSI R9 390 I unplugged everything from the PSU and the beeps have disappeared. Mobo, CPU snd GPU connectors reattached, still no beeps. I yet have to plug sata and molex back in and see what happens. Maybe something was loose. Update: everything's plugged back and the beep returned. I'll keep playing with the connectors.
  3. Nope, all aftermarket parts. Actually it was a prebuilt in 2009 or so, but everything original is long gone.
  4. Me neither. Though I doubt it's coil whine; It's the exact same robotic 7-3-3 sequence every time at power on and nowhere else.
  5. So, I replaced my old time bomb-quality brick with EVGA Supernova G3 750W. Everything seems to work fine but at every power on, including wake from sleep I get this series of beeps. 7 short beeps, then 3 and then 3 again. Always the same 7-3-3 sequence. It doesn't come from the motherboard (I don't even have the mobo beeper installed!), but the from PSU. While this is annoying, I'm a bit worried too. Google didn't offer much. Anyone here know what's this all about? I recorded the beeps here.
  6. No matter how many lights I turn on my laptop memory is still SO-DIMM.

    TF2 FPS?

    What are your specs anyway?
  8. Now, how can I get my cat ON my tower? My case doesn't have to vents and is in a nice position under my desk.
  9. OP said 720p so I went with that. It varies with different games and settings anyway, am I right? That's interesting indeed. Gotta read more on it.
  10. If I remember correctly, HDR is only on the pro. The slim is just original PS4 slimmed down, right? If however both the console and TV support HDR, it's not a concern. @Maxinfamily Well, technically it is also rendering, I guess:D (not as drawing the 3D image, of course but as post processing)
  11. TVs absolutely do upscale. The TV is taking 720p or whatever signal and resizing it to be fed to the 4K panel. The quality of upscaled image can and will vary though.
  12. What goes through the HDMI is what the PS4 outputs (in this case 720p). The upscaling happens after the TV receives it. There are two speeds in HDMI cables, it doesn't go like 1.4, 2.0 and 2.1 needed their own versions. Hi-speed and standard speed. Standard speed is so old that I doubt they'd pack it to anything anymore. It's more on what your PS and TV support. So, buying a new cable will likely not help your situation.
  13. I got the new fans and this thing is really silent. I can't really hear the new fans from the hard drive noise. Props for Noctua for including a lot of accessories so I didn't have to splice the fan cord itself and Jimm's for packing a surprise in the box:D
  14. Back when I started my journey, I had a legit installer DVD bought from Apple and later downloaded from Mac App Store. It breaks the EULA, I guess but is definitely not piracy. In many communities I've hung around people will actually refuse to help if they find out that you arrr'd it. Also to note, I think from Apple's perspective Hackintosh attracts a completely different audience to their ecosystem rather than being a threat. That's at least how I went from Windows only person to everything between a custom gaming rig to a MacBook person.
