ProfessorMint got a reaction from kuzimins in Nexus 5x or HTC one m8?
I've been using the HTC One M8 for about a year, absolute beast of a phone even if it's not brand new.
I've dropped it many times (on accident, of course) from all different heights without a case and the only noticeable damage are some small scuffs in the metal. Screen has stayed nearly perfect as well.
Specs wise it can run pretty much everything you throw at it as expected, though the back of the phone can get quite hot since it's basically a giant heatsink. The camera isn't phenomenal, either, but it works well enough for what most people would reasonably need it for.
The OS, HTC Sense, was okay to use but the live feed is pretty useless unless you use Twitter and Instagram a lot. If you're okay with modding, cyanogenmod works very well, other than I can't receive any calls, which only matters depending on the person, considering texting is pretty predominant over voice so this may or may not matter to you. I think there are some "unofficial updates" for Sense on the XDA forums as well that help it run faster while still being a (basically) stock phone.
I haven't tried the Nexus, but the One M8 has been a solid phone for me so far, the only thing I could really ask for would be a fingerprint scanner.
