Also, unless you used an external thunderbolt graphics card like the Razer Core, it would be basically impossible.

Every CPU Cooler should wiggle around a few mm. It's just the way they're built, and the thermal paste below them acts as a friction reducer/oily substance. If a LGA type CPU is in a socket, and has been latched properly (Not really a way to screw that up) it will NOT bend the pins.

Just found this little gem on amazon and it has to be one of the worst fake flash media attempted coverups I have ever seen. Here are a few quotes from the listing:

Alright, Did a bit of searching, and the water cooling support header is "CPU_OPT" so make sure you're pump is plugged in there. Once you have plugged in the pump the board should automatically switch modes, if not, then as we discussed last night, it is most likely a faulty pump.

The first one could be a few things, The power/charging circuit in the laptop, the charge port, or the battery may be dying.
 
The second one sounds like it's overheating, my brother had something similar(a vista era acer something) and had to keep a really good cooling pad with LARGE fans on it to play games for any length of time.

Usually for cooling I go with the G1 Gaming series cards from Gigabyte.

Sounds good. Let me know if this fixes the issue! But before you make the purchase do check and make sure you're fan control settings on the motherboard are set to "pump" mode or similar.

The fans detect the heat and spin up to 100%, but im not super experienced in BIOS and i'm not totally sure where to find these settings, not to mention that i dont particularly want to run this system for ages at 80C

Actually a faulty PSU is often a misdiagnosed cause of PC lockups and freezes. Was the PSU a refurb unit? I have noticed a lot of quality issues with the CX600M latley.

Hes saying to leave youre adapter unplugged while you set windows setup unless or you will have problems with it. If you have already done this then you can leave it in the USB port
