Yep, sadly the monitor only has a VGA port and I used a brand new cable, but the problem still persists.

Hey, my second monitor (samsung Syncmaster 2243nw) is starting to die I think. The screen flickers and changes whites to purple. There is also an issue which I cant really describe. Anything on the screen has a kind of shadow drifting off to the right of it, If i have just a blue square on a white the screen it will have a blue shadow to the right of the box, as if its leaking. I should mention that the graphics card (GTX 660) is not at fault because my primary monitor is fine when running on any of the outputs from the card. Sorry if that was a terrible description, but I was wondering if there is anything i can do to fix this or is it just going to be dead soon? Its not the end of the world if it is, the monitor is 4 and a half years old. Thanks

Ok I just set it to 4.0 and auto voltage, according to CPUZ the core voltage hits 1.152 or something at its highest. but after about 10 mins of prime 95 the temps im getting are around 88C on one of the cores.

I followed what linus did in his ivybridge OC video, opened it up chose Small FFTs and 4 torture tests

Yeah the reason i went with the H60 and quiet edition fans was so i could keep it quiet, I am thinking of putting the adapters back on and trying out some overclocks. So i should try keep stress test temps below 80C?

Hey guys, its been a while since I have visited the forums, but I have a question for people with a lot more knowledge than me Im running a i5 3570k with a H60 V2 (2013) in push pull (pulling air from outside the case) with 2 corsair sp120 quiet edition fans, all on a MSI Z77A-G45 motherboard. I have the cpu running the stock clock at the moment, but I am worried about idle temps. I was running the low speed adapters that come with the fans and i was idle at about 38 degrees, and i took them off, now its between 34 and 38. Is this running too hot? i thought it should be between 25 and 30? Under load (prime 95) with the adapters I was reaching around 80 and without im getting around 65-75. Im assuming i should stick with not using the adapters, but is this running too hot? My radiator has been cleaned with compressed air today and the system has plenty of air flow. I really would like to get something like 4.0ghz out of this without too much noise, do you guys think its possible? Thanks Prian

Thanks a lot guys! I had a small plastic square just lying around which I stuck to the bottom corner of the drive cover, and it was pretty much the perfect size to rest on the button lightly so when i push it opens with no problems. Layering up the tape would also work.

Yeah its only temporary, I usually only have 1 screen and my rig on the desk, but for now its a bit uncomfortable. I followed this post: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/12141-stealth-dvd-drive-mod/ I open it by pushing lightly on the bottom right corner. Thanks!

So the title says its finished but its never going to be finished. Inspired by a post on the forum, I have decided to stealth my drive. There is a front view of the cast in the original post and this is how it turned out :) im pleased with it . Also sorry about the terrible lighting, I didnt want to unplug the system and move it :P

On both currently, I would like both movies and Tv shows in one place, and all my docs and family pictures and videos in a separate place, and then a backup of just the second half. I am currently only able to backup documents and music, I only have one set of pictures and videos on this external. there is probably a really simple solution to this, im just not seeing it :P Thanks for the response [EDIT] The reason I was thinking of the 3TB HDD was for backup, so I could use a raid array internally for most of my other stuff, im just not sure about what type of array would be best and how to even set one up.

I have had this happen once about 2 days ago, I was playing wow, the boss we were killing was nearly down, I was on 80fps and then suddenly black screen, game seems as if it has shut down but then suddenly reappears and im on 22ish fps. I restarted wow and everything was back to normal, I usually run on ultra settings with no overclocks and have never had an issue with the game running for hours until now. I would love some answers too :P

Hey, I have a few issues regarding storage, Ill start of by saying that i have a lot of movies and tv that I would rather not delete, I also have a lot of pictures and videos from things like family holidays and weddings. Here is my setup currently: Internal: 128gb SSD - OS, Main programs, couple of games (no issues, staying as it is) 500gb HDD - all other programs and games which are not on SSD, also music and documents 1TB HDD - Tv shows and fraps footage External: 1.5TB HDD - Movies, pictures, my own video footage and program setup files, backups of documents and music. I am running out of space and I would rather buy another drive than delete stuff, so here is my problem, is there a way of sorting this mess out with purchasing only one drive and also setting up regular backups of my documents? Its not a huge loss if a drive fails and I only loose movies or tv, its just my documents and holiday videos and pictures. I was thinking of buying a 3tb external for around £90, and then taking apart my old external and setting up some sort of raid array with the 1tb for my media only although, I have never used raid before, the performance is not an issue its just capacity. Sorry for the essay, I just cant figure out a good way to sort this out so I'm slowly deleting things that I haven't used in a while or aren't a massive loss to me. Thanks for taking the time to read this, any suggestions would be helpful :)

I'm just worried ill break something :P I may try get hold of an old PSU that I can practice on or something.
