  1. If they were TERRIBLE, then people would stop buying them, there fore would not stick around...... I've used many and not had a single problem. It is by far the most popular line of PSUs today for a reason.... they are cheap and they work and they are reliable
  2. My mates got the 9400f he's willing to let go for quite cheap, also i much prefer the single thread performance as i will be buying second hand and not the latest gen cpus.
  3. I think the CX series from corsair is amaxzing, theres a reason its been around for years...
  4. Right now im running a i7 3700, I'm thinking about upgrading to a i5 9400f I have a GTX 1050ti and run at 1440p What performence jump can i expect with that cpu upgrade? I'm a heavy multitasker and gamer Cheers
  5. hell yeah! RMIT is in my city, feels so weird to see it on here. awesome news
  6. Also, the PSU mounting thing is super weird, so it cant fit anything else
  7. yeah, dont worry, I have the gigabyte model in mind https://www.pccasegear.com/products/50013/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1650-d6-oc-low-profile-4gb has a SFF bracket included.
  8. I personally think investing in some faster storage is always a good path, even for a little server like this one. Software at this level isnt much of a concern to my knowledge, although i may be wrong
  9. oooooooo, wow, tough one. I would not recommend touching it, bring it to a IT professional near you and hope for the best.
  10. with the GPU under volted, will i still get decent FPS when gaming with decent settings?
  11. Welcome to the forum! Can i ask exactly what your budget may be in the future?
  12. a PSU upgrade isnt an option. i'm upgrading a SFF prebuilt and the motherboard has a weird power connector and mounting fo rth epsu is not standard. And i know the TV isnt locked at 4K, its just if we have a 4k tv might as well use it yeah? Is undervolting the GPU an option for me?
  13. Completely agree, see what the 3060 performs like, and then make a decision from there.
  14. see what adapters are out there for the plugs you have and work from there.
  15. So here's the story.. Me and my brother are building a bit of a man cave (with a drum kit, couch etc, etc,) and i was in charge of the media center. We both decided that a emulation machine would be fantastic for when mates come over and we can play mario kart and stuff, but he kinda screwed me over by buying a 4K TV. It was a crazy good steal, for 70 bucks, but now i need to buy a graphics card for the PC i was going to use. Specs: i5 2500 8gb DDR3 ON BOARD GRAPHICS 240 watt PSU From what ive seen, a GTX 1650 might be good enough for us, but the recommenced PSU for a 1650 is 300 watt, (it's possible to run it off a 240, just not reccomeneded) what should i do? (games we are looking to play are emulators of course, but also some modern party titles like Rocket League all at 4K, medium-high settings, 60+ FPS) Thanks
  16. If its stable after 20 minutes in Kombuster, its good. but as a general rule of thumb, if you feel uneasy with it, dial it back. An extra 2/3 FPS arent worth a dead GPU.
  17. Uhm, condensation might be doing something? I think you're better off going to one of the Physics Sub reddits and asking there
  18. LGA 1151 gives me everything up to Coffee Lake. Im not looking for the best here, im on a budget Also, im on socket 1155, I have the best CPU for my socket, literally any newer socket is good for me. Plus, 1151 sockets will be filling the used market
  19. if i were to sell my CPU / RAM / MOBO, how much would i get for it? $150?
  20. again, for my budget im looking at probably used CPUs, stuff like Skylake
  21. Cost is a thing, im maybe looking at 600 AUD. So looking at something like Skylake
  22. The blue color thing was a joke. But in the things that i do, any improvement in single core performance is one i need, even if its marginal. And i honestly dont think i have the budget for a new CPU / MOBO / RAM. Im looking a second hand stuff most probably. maybe something in the 7### series from Intel, but still have the modern socket to upgrade
  23. My GPU is doing fine for the games i play, again mostly CPU intensive games, In terms of Intel, whats the best option for a good 6 core that will last me for a while? Blue's my favorite color. But nah, IMO the single core / thread performance is wayyyyyy more important for me. I have a budget for maybe 600 AUD to upgrade what i want. Again, i play mostly CPU intensive games. KSP, DCS, etc..
  24. Again, im not interested in Ryzen. What would you suggest in Intel's offerings?
