i found the problem guys and it was the ram , i was running 2x4 g sticks at 1333 replaced them with 2x8 at 2400 and its working alot better getting 140 fps on average in valley and 100 to 120 fps gta 5
-
i just checked and there is no cap set or anything , clean installed the drivers agan , stil same problem
-
i am currently running 8gb while i wait for my 8x8 gb sticks to come back from warranty
-
per Nvidia 1 GTX 980ti requires 16gb of system ram, you now have 2 GTX 980ti's, so would you need 32gb of system ram now that you have 2 gpu's? I don't know I am just trying to give some help to your problem. i found this on nvidea s forum , does anyone know anything about this ?
-
no i dont i am 100% sure
-
but i can clearly see that both of my cards are running when i launch up the games , its just that the fps is capped between 50 and 60 no matter how low i set the settings 2 , i get the same fps in gta 5 running 800x600
-
i had 2 8 gb hyper x fury sticks running with my old set up of 970 sli , but the same day i bought the 980 ti cards the ram sticks died before i had the chance to even install the new cards , so i ended up using 2 old adata sticks
-
i have already tried that , i have tried everything short of reinstalling windows
-
that is the main reason why i suspect the ram to be the issue im just not sure if i have something else wrong , i went so far as to replace my psu because i thought it was failing and causing the drop in fps
-
i ran the cards on a newer system at my workplace , with a 6th gen i7 and 32gb of ddr4 ram and they ran as expected with a boost of 50 fps in the triple A titles and in valley
-
i always turn it off and even if i didnt m screen runs at 144hz so shouldnt it cap everything at 144 fps if it were running ?
-
any and all games under perform im getting 105 fps in valley , 50 to 60 fps in gta 5 , 50 to 60 fps in forza horizon 3 and 150 fps in csgo all drivers are up to date including windows 10 , my screens native resolution is 1080p , i am also not new to sli , i have had sli as early as the 500 series and in have had sli with every new release after
-
its a i7 4790k i dont think its the issue
-
i have recently bought 2 gtx 980ti s and they are under performing , the fps is between 60 and 50 no matter the resolution or graphics settings , i have also recently had to temporarily change my ram sticks to 2 adata 4gb sticks running in dual channel at 1333 mghz could that be the reason my system is having such bad performance ?
-
do you have any idea what might be the issue ? could it be hard drive related ? because my system doesnt really have bad or mismatched hardware other then the ram sticks , i have an i7 4790 but i have 4 drives in my system
