  1. I like it because it gives me control. With Windows I feel like I'm always fighting updates or arbitrary restrictions, Linux just trusts that I know what I'm doing a let's me do whateverver the hell I want. Trusting the used to know what they're doing does mean that it's a little harder to use sometimes but that's a fair trade off.
  2. Thanks so much, I'll give it a go and get back to you if it works.
  3. I didn't get around to upgrading the laptop to windows 8.1 before it broke. Using a windows 8.1 installer when it asks for an installation media just returns 'The media inserted is not valid' Microsoft seem to be burying windows 8 so deep that they don't have the installer available anymore.
  4. Hi, I have bought an older laptop which runs windows 8, I have somehow managed to corrupt my windows files and need to reset it. However my recovery partition is missing so I need a windows 8 .iso file or similar installer. All I have been able to find so far have been windows 8.1 installers which do not work for this purpose. If someone knows of a safe download and links me to it, it would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. What model is that? Prices can be a bit different here in New Zealand and monitors are too bulky to ship from the US (import fees are also nasty)
  6. HI, I'm looking for a replacement monitor that is 1080p, 'frameless' and at least 23". At the moment I'm looking at the 23" AOC I2379VHE here but as I have little experience shopping for monitors I'd like some feedback on whether I'm making the right decision or if I should pick something else. Thanks.
  7. Just got my pair of cloud cores today, absolutely fantastic, thank you very much everyone. @Nimrodor @Dackzy @Piinnn @ARikozuM
  8. I have to go now, thank you so much for all your help mates, that's been a tremendous help.
  9. OK they're on sale here at the mo' so they're cheaper than the g430s anyway.
  10. Yes these are a reasonable price in NZ but how much would I end up paying for an equivalent mic?
  11. hmm OK, what things in your opinion make the cloud core better than the g430s?
  12. $120 New Zealand Dollars which is about $80 USD but prices might be a bit different over there.
  13. Thanks for that, sorry to keep you chasing around after me but I've also found the logitech g433 on sale for a similar price, would they be a better deal?
