I am new to pc building as this will be my first, but I have literally watched hundreds of videos in the past couple months, so I think I can at least understand the jargon/information. I don't really have a set budget because I am more interested in building the right pc. That said, I don't really see the need to spend more than $3000 (US), if a $1500 pc will suit my needs then all the better. I am not a hardcore gamer, just like to play on the weekends and have a good time. The games I play aren't very graphic intensive (H1Z1 etc.) only because I don't have the pc to run other games. I would like to be able to play Shadow of Mordor and Crysis 3 etc. with this build. I am also not really interested in 4k. I would much prefer higher frame rate than ultra super sharp hair and grass that costs a lot more money. Not really interested in hardcore video editing either, the occasional GoPro video but nothing more. After the long post, here is my parts list:
CPU: I7-6700k
GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SC+ ACX 2.0 or a EVGA GTX 980 Ti SC+ ACX 2.0+ (I know the 980 is better, but for my purposes I don't know if it is worth 2x the price)
MOBO: MSI Z170A Gaming M7
SSD: Samsung 950 Pro 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2
HDD: WD Black 1 TB
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz C14
CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i GT
Case: Corsair Carbide Air 540
PSU: Corsair AX860i (I know this might be overkill, but I would rather error on the side of caution)
OS: Windows 10
Totaling about $2,100 on Amazon (using the 970, add an extra $300 for the 980)
Not included in price are peripherals because I can (hopefully) get them as gifts:
Corsair K65 RGB Keyboard
Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex Mouse
Corsair Gaming VOID USB RGB Headset
Acer XB270HU Monitor (This is the area I know the least about, I only want one monitor and Linus' video prompted me to put this one on my list)
Any help with my list would be much appreciated. Thank you!
