DrM got a reaction from LienusLateTips in Razer Hate
Razer stuff is just overpriced. Their keyboards use cheaper kahil switches but are the same price as say a k70 with cherry switches. Their headsets are like all other headsets, twice the price as a similar quality headphone For basically just a mic. I have no personal experience with their mice but ive heard stories of their QC

DrM got a reaction from SpaceGhostC2C in Why you Should Not Purchase the EVGA G2 Lineup Especially in Homes with Frequent Brownouts
at the end of the linked article, it mentions that the superflower psu uses some capxon caps instad of all jap caps in the g2 550. it even recommends the g2 over the super flower unit, which, i quote: (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/super-flower-leadex-gold-550w-power-supply,4416-10.html)
basically, the g2 is safe and has the exact same hold up time as ac loss to pwr_ok holdup time. it seems the superflower one might be more an issue with the lower quality caps and overly aggresive marketing.

If anyone is interested in this list I tend to put one together each year for deals around the Holidays. I usually share it with friends and family but also post it on here if it's helpful for anyone. I do try to keep it as updated as possible but I am merely human and am just as busy as anyone else during the Holidays. If you have any suggestions or corrections please feel free to make a comment and I'll try to make edits to keep it fresh. It is shared to the public so feel free to share it with anyone else. Enjoy!

god no. thats one of the worst choices out there.

anything on this list tier 3 or higher is recommended, especially since psus are one of the few components you can reuse in any build
id recommend cx450m, which occasionally drops to under $30 after rebate

the cpu doesnt make a computer slow when its only used for web browsing. browsers arent very well multithreaded anyways, so even a pentium is fine. if you want fast, get an ssd. i doubt your mother could fill up 1tb, so a cheap 120 or 240gb one should be good

Lots of room in the budget to add a GT 710 or a G4400 instead, but if all she's doing is Facebook and web browsing, this is all she needs.

tier 4, so its okay. however, you said you plan to upgrade later on, so if you have the money then it could be worth it to spend a bit more on a quality psu and reuse it later, rather than buying 2 mediocre psus

So, Here's the video in question.

Anyway, I wanted to make this post as a way to show that people should NOT follow the advice of Tech youtubers when it comes to headphones. You see, he's talking about a pair of headphones that have six drivers per earcup. This has been done before; Razer Tiamat 7.1/Other "true" surround sound headphones. Here's the issue: You can't actually tell direction based on the positioning of the drivers in the earcup. That's all determined by the timing for the sound to reach from one ear to another. As such, you still need surround processing, or actual speakers that are placed around the room.

Basically, my point is that tech reviewers like to test out "new" or interesting products, and then they try to form an opinion when they have no real experience with (particularly) audio.

Oh, and if you want to look at headphones that have more than one driver per ear, then look no further than any of the multitude of IEMs that use Balanced Armature Drivers. There are some that have as many as 12 drivers per ear, if not more. But guess what? Those are not designed to make the sound more spacious. You see, Balanced armature drivers, due to their miniscule size, are generally only capable of reproducing a small section of the audio spectrum. As such, manufacturers will put more than one size/type of BA driver in the earphones, in order to improve the sound of the earphones. This is actually how you make good sound, not by claiming that you'll get better directional audio by putting multiple (probably worse) drivers in a headphone.

That's a non-standard layout, but it's pretty close to a 60% keyboard in a pretty rare layout called a 65%. Some 65% boards have extra arrow keys added in, but the three standard layouts that you'll find most often as seen in the image a few posts above this one are 100%, 80%, 60%. Here's a link about 65% boards.
