  1. https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/processors/000006586.html apparently intel does make an "aftermarket" stock cooler for x99 cpus and it would not throttle unless amd oc the 6900k, since intel stays true to their tdp under stock frequencies. once you push a cpu past that, tdp goes out the window
  2. stock cooler master stuff. if you want a proper comparison though http://overclocking.guide/thermal-paste-roundup-2015-47-products-tested-with-air-cooling-and-liquid-nitrogen-ln2/6/
  3. 6900k has 20mb of l3 cache and 2mb of l2 cache (256kb per core). not sure how much difference 2mb less would make, but it is definately an odd way to measure cache. its normally just l3, though this may just be to make it seem at least comparable to intel offerings
  4. you could use ting (and offer code linus or something like that) and disable the data i do wonder why youre not allowed to have data but can still get a phone that uses wifi. whats the difference?
  5. any other options? both would stop me from using my pc for an extended period since id have to boot into alternate os.
  6. 4 months old. didnt get reallocated sectors until a month or 2 after so microcenter warranty expired. it started out at 0 and jumped to 19 in a few days, but stayed there so i wasnt too worried until now
  7. so i have this toshiba drive that shot up to 158 reallocated sectors, and i dont quite trust it to last much longer. all my data is backed up, though its not too important, but thats besides the point. does anyone have experience with toshiba rma or know how many reallocated sectors it would take to get a refund? the drive should pass whatever software they use since there arent any pending or uncorrectable sectors yet, though im running seatools right now (secretly hoping it will up the reallocated sector count even more), so im afraid that theyll refuse the warranty
  8. if you have an android phone, why not try it with a windows launcher first? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lx.launcher8&hl=en
  9. then thats fine. the card doesnt thermal throttle until ~90C
  10. thats why. the case has little airflow so the gpu has no way to remove the hot air. a blower cooler would pull its own air and push it out the back
  11. unless you buy used/refurbished, gsync monitors are $350 cheapest https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#A=1&sort=a8&page=1
  12. the only option out there that i know of is the filco Majestouch Convertible 2 Tenkeyless
  13. C24F396 has freesync and a much harsher curve (1.8m vs 4m radius). why curved? you could get a better panel for the same price
