  1. Razer has announced an update to its Razer Blade. I feel like Linus will be quite happy with this, as I remember one of his complaints were the use of the TN panel and I believe also the resolution used at that time. The new Blade is going to double the resolution (going from 1600 x 900 to 3200 x 1800), and includes an IPS panel, rather than the TN one. The rest of the hardware is really to be expected. To me, at least, the screen was the big update and seemed necessary. 2. I haven't. Since I've upgraded its been plugged into my laptop so its yet to be on battery. Since im just heading home after this, I'll give that a test tomorrow :)
  3. I've downloaded the iOS 7 beta and so far I really like it. The only thing im a bit iffy on is the new folders. I love how you can now have more pages, but I preferred the old way they had it. There were more apps per page, and I dont think the animation was that bad to go with the new "feel" i get from the OS. The transitions just make the OS feel so smooth and the look as well.
  4. But would that also mean even the mutithreaded i7's also be "optimized" for it?
  5. My guess would be most expandable was directed towards it having the 6 Thunderbolt ports.. Thats a ton of hard drives you can hook up :P
  6. Yeah, The thing that striked me most was the case. Its just something new, and in a small formfactor. Also thunderbolt. Linus has shown interest in thunderbolt and the interesting things it can bring to small form factors. We've seen large amounts of hard drives, and even a movement towards an external PCIe casing to have desktop graphics, but on something like a laptop.
  7. But theyre worstation GPUs.. Never heard of a workstation GPU on a laptop
  8. Apple just recently announced their new Mac Pro. The design is quite interesting and surprisingly small looking compared to most cases, and especially their last Mac Pro design. The case is a cylinder, packing a Xeon CPU, Dual AMD Workstation GPUs, Thunderbolt 2 with 20GBps throughput - supporting up to three 4K displays. All at 1/8 the size of the current Mac Pro! 10. Just trying to hear peoples experiences with your cards. I've bought reference card 7970s and 7950s and all so far have had coil whine (3 cards). Hows the Nvidia equivalent? Really starting to feel extremely unlucky with my hardware purchases. :(
  11. I have a 3820 with a asus rampage iv formula. I'm trying to overclock it, and seems like people can get around 1.3v with 125 bus speed and a multiplier of 28. Well... I can't. I dont know how they are doing it, but I'm getting crashes unless I have it at at least 1.4v, or even higher. My ram doensn't seem to want to overclock at all - with the bus speed at 125 it wants the ram at 1666 vs the base of 1600. It wont even boot to windows. HELP! :(
  12. Use PcPartPicker to select your items. If you're looking for help with picking, or whatever, it'll give links to everything, show us prices, and format it all nicely :) When you want to put it onto the forum, use the BBCode Markup button to generate your list!
  13. I know Linus has brought up the topic in the past, but I can't seem to find it. What, other than Noctua fans, are good? Comparable to the Noctua ones. I just can't deal with that color scheme :(
