  1. How BitTube uses cryptocurrency for monetization. May be a challenge, depending on how much needs explained. A simpler video could be the basics of torrent based video platforms.
  2. Here's a thought, would I be able to use the Aux send/FX send to output a signal to a device such as the Xbox controller? That would be sweet.
  3. Right. The Mixamp was the 2012 version I believe. It was connected to the PC via USB and the Xbox via optical Toslink. I could replace it with the current TR Xbone version, but checking other options. I could get the Xbox audio on an analog signal using a 3.5mm jack if that makes the setup simpler.
  4. The mic port on my Astro Mixamp bit the dust so I am looking at my options to revamp the audio setup. The mixamp simultaneously played audio from both my PC and game consoles. Would a cheap mixer be a good solution for this? Would I need a separate mic for the Xbox if I got a mixer? Eventually I want to learn electric guitar, so would the mixer also be all I need for that?
  5. I just drew up a heatsink design I'd like to see LTT try out. It uses a copper wire mesh and aluminum bar to hold it together. The idea is the air would flow through the mesh. Not sure how well it would transfer heat. Perhaps you could remove one of the aluminum bar layers to add a heatpipe.
  6. Short throw projection... Not what I was expecting.
  7. We can see here Linus is painting a wall, working on some experimental video format. My guess is a green screen wall for VR mixed reality. Thoughts?
  8. Video editing? For 720p, I would check out Lightworks. Otherwise, I bought Adobe Premier Elements 13 which is now the older version. EDIT: Just found DAVINCI RESOLVE 12. Might be worth checking out.
  9. @LinusTech To achieve your goal of having one central system for household computing, would you be able to use the Elgato Thunderbolt Dock used here with UnRaid? That way the user doesn't have to be in the same room, the video and input isn't network based, and there would not be a need for a complete computer at the user's location. Edit: Or possibly a more affordable USB 3.0 hub and USB (optical) cables?
  10. They confirmed on Facebook "It's not Atom mobile family, they are desktop processor Braswell family, UDOO X86 have M.2, SATA, 3 screen output it's compatible with all OS supported by Intel x84 architecture" and provided this link. http://ark.intel.com/m/compare/91830,87383,92124,91831. Also that when running 3, 4k screens, its 30 fps on desktop. I'm very interested in seeing how this thing turns out.
  11. I would like to share a video of my DIY controller. It is meant to be used in conjunction with a mouse for gaming. At the moment, keys are assigned by JoyToKey, although I was looking into trying Xpadder to emulate an Xbox controller. This was my first attempt at making something like this and recording a video to discuss it so please don't be too harsh. I know the audio is crap and the controller could use work. This was mostly meant to be a prove of concept that gaming with a mouse and gamepad can be an enjoyable experience. Built using a Teensy LC, generic Arduino joystick, 7 buttons, and one hat stick.
  12. OK, it took me way longer than it should have to notice there's 3 models. Basic, Advanced, and Ultra. It looks like the Ultra is the one with the Pentium. The Basic and Advanced look like something else.
  13. I just noticed an ad for the UDOO X86 Kickstarter page. They claim this $89 board can drive 3, 4K displays simultaneously with an Intel quad core at 2 - 2.24GHz, and 4 - 8 GB of ram. Not sure how much I trust that claim. From the description it sounds like an Atom x5 or x7. Part of me would like to see Linus back the Kickstarter so we can see how the final product turns out when/if it comes out. What are your thoughts?
