  1. Just received my machine. It has a i5-6500 and uses around 7-8 watts when being idle (Proxmox). Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it!
  2. For the i5-6500, i5-6500T & i5-7500T, we are looking at an 'HP EliteDesk 800 G3 DM'. For the i5-6600T, we are looking at a 'Dell OptiPlex 7040 Micro USFF'. For the x500(T), the systems would be identical and get 16GB RAM + 500GB SSD. This seems like quite a big difference. Are both systems running the same OS and do they have similar components (same amount of HDD/SSD, ram, expansion cards, etc.? Maybe the best option is still to get the 6500, since the 6500T variant is basically an underclocked 6500. It is always possible to tweak the OS/EUFI to lower the max clock speed to achieve the same thing when needed. The other way around isn't that easy (if possible at all).
  3. Looking at the info over at 'cpubenchmark' compare tool, it seems like the 6600T compares almost equally as good as the 6500 non-T, while having the power limit of 35W compared to 65W. Keeping low energy consumption in mind, is it still better to get the 6500 non-T then the 6500T given they almost have the same performance?
  4. Thanks for your replies! It turns out that I can get the i5-6500 non-T model for 140 euros (only 5 euros more compared to the T model!). As long as the power consumption at idle isn't higher this seems like a good option to me. Will this be a huge difference as far as you know? Maybe since I'm not going for a T series anymore, might it be a good idea to get a SFF PC instead of a micro PC, since it may push out some extra heat? And does a micro use less power than an SFF PC?
  5. Dear member, I'm looking for something to replace my RPI 3B with. I want to use Proxmox so I can run several VMs/containers at once. The system will be running HomeAssistant, a reverse proxy, a VPN, a NextCloud instance to share files with my family members, an instance of Passbolt, and maybe a Minecraft server (just for funs, 5 players max, not used often). Looking around on the internet for some SFF PCs (second-hand market), I found the following three machines: Intel - 6500T (135 euros) - 6600T (160 euros) - 7500T (180 euros) The system that I will choose will be getting an upgrade with 2X8GB of 3200 DDR4 ram and a 500GB Samsung 980 SSD. One thing I would like to keep in mind is power efficiency, but as the Intel site lists, they are all 35W TDP, so I might assume they all use the same amount of energy? What would you suggest? Kind regards, Sjaak
  6. Thank you for your awnsers! But the fact that this forum removes the link is probably the confirmation that it is sketchy... I will go ahead and contact apple support. hope they can do something for me! Thanks guys!
  7. Dear reader, I haven't been using my ipad for a while, and decided to use it in the kitchen to play music to my sonos speakers. However, i lost my unlock code. So i restored it to factory defaults, and now when i try to set it up again, it is prompting me that is is locked with my icloud account. But i dont remember the password of that account (Ipad is the only apple product i have). On my samsung tablet after a full reset there is no such problem, i can just set it up again and there is no problem. I have been looking online to find a solution, and came across sites like these: <link removed> They look really sketchy to me, isnt it? Does anybody have experience with such things, is there a tool you can download such as mentioned above. Or is there a way to recover my Icloud account. Really hope you guys have some knowladge about this. Greetings, Sjaak S.
  8. Just tried this one, however no results ;( It is a really weird problem i guess
  9. Dear, A few days ago my site stopped working. Instead of displaying my site, it gave me a download of my index.html source code. Including the php pieces that were in there. After some digging i came to the conclusion that the problem suddenly was in my .htaccess file. After removing the rule AddType application/x-httpd-php .html .htm (This line says that html and htm should be executed as php) It loaded the page (empty page, cause the php included the navbar, homepage(logged in or not) and footer) normally. I really dont know what happens, i have 4 sites by on the same hositng package, where 2 sites dont work annynore(the 2 with the AddType in the .htaccess) and the other 2 are working fine. My site relies really on that line of code, everything is writtin in HTML en rewrite it all with php is just way to much work. Any tips that could work?
  10. Damnn sound intrestinggg, thank you for your reply! And finally explains this mistery for me?
  11. Hello guy, I was just wondering when you right click and select propterties on for example a file, there are two values, one named Size and another one named Size on Disk. How could the size differ from the size on the Disk?
  12. Why i / evryone need(s) a SSD: My old SSD died a half year ago, and my system is now so slow wihtout an SSD, my hdd now uses mostly 100% of reading/writing speed all over the time and that slows your pc really hard down! why evryone should use an SSD is because they make the boot of your OS, loading from heavy load programs(such as games and videoediting) a lot faster!
