my internet is running through 150ft of cat5e cable and doing great.

    you do not need cat6e

Cat 6a is plentiful and you will NEVER exceed the cable.

if you really need 75 feet of cable I recommend you get an inexpensive power wall thing (sorry don't know proper name) so that you have the same performance of just using normal Ethernet cables

    watch linuses video on it

unless you are in a datacenter with tons of interference. you do not need a cat6e or anything higher.

    Cat5e is more than enough

Cat5e should work for ~300ft. I can't imagine you need more than that.

As i Already mentioned, i punctured my cable and if i should upgrade for the future or is there no Point of doing so because the cables will be better and faster then.

I punctured the cable while stapling and its now showing signs of degradation

For your cable I would suggest CAT 6 cable just for durability reasons with thicker insulation over CAT 5e still going at 1Gbps speeds unless you have 10Gbps capable hardware where CAT 6a is the cable you will want to look into. For CAT 7 they do exist and are available but is basically CAT 6a with even more shielding.

CAT8 isn't out anywhere from my knowledge but has been slated out as the next standard when needed.

Here is the Wikipedia article i found that has a mention of Category 8 cables https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO/IEC_11801#CAT7

Why keep mentioning Cat7, you don't need the speed or range of it, just pickup this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA3ZS3CS8893&cm_re=CAT5e_Ethernet_Flat_Cable_50ft-_-9SIA3ZS3CS8893-_-Product , or something similar.

For a bit more money i could be moving it up and making sure i get the proper speed for years to come

  4. So i have a Cat 5e cable streched all the way to my room from the living room. the cable i used was over 75 feet should i get a Cat 7? Do cat 7 Even exist cause I've read somewhere that they are a bluff. In that case should i just wait until the real think comes out or upgrade now? this has been scratching my mind. Also why does wikipedia have a category for Cat 8? does that exist already?

My ACER is a 75hz panel at like 800x600, luckily i get 74.6hz overclocked at 1080P which is basically 75hz.

    I use HDMI.

    AMD or Nvidia?

if you set a custom resolution and refresh rate and its not supported you should get a black screen. wait 15 seconds or so and it will revert back to the previous resolution.

I'm aware of that, how exactly does this help?

  7. 3 hours ago, byalexandr said:

Yes it would. But it's likely that it doesn't, which is why it isn't showing up.

What monitor did you buy? It's also likely that it overclocks to 75Hz and you'll have to do it yourself.

you can try to set the resolution and the Hz so when you mouse 2 and go to display settings it will pick 1920x1080 75hz

Once you select 75Hz it switches back to 1280x1024

Uhh, excuse me? The Nano is an excellent card, and only one of the cards from the Fury series. You can't base a future generation of GPUs off of the previous one, especially not with one card that wasn't even a failure.

How the hell did they fail? I'm appalled by your statement. 175W TDP, which is the same as the 380 Compact from Sapphire, yet it packs a full Fury X core and is faster than the GTX 980 while still being $500. In fact, if all goes well with XFX, I might be using it in my upcoming 5.4L custom chassis.

It came at a wrong time and its slower than its Nvidia competition(980), It also consumes more power and heats up more than the 980.

Honestly it isnt all that bad, but i would only put this card into a system with a small case, because i have yet to see a 980 at this size

That's probably the problem. Try using DisplayPort or a Dual Link DVI cable. HDMI generations are weird and it likely you have an older generation of HDMI that doesn't support 1080p at 75Hz.

There isnt an option of 75hz in the Catalyst even, Wouldn't it still be there if it supports it?

  11. 3 hours ago, TomvanWijnen said:

Yes, some monitors are (IMO wrongly) advertised as that, and unfortunately it isn't possible to run 75Hz at 1080p on it, unless you overclock the panel, and have enough luck to get it working fine.

By overclock, i could go to my GPU settings and set the Resolution to 1440p, would that work with Hz?

I'm waiting for Polaris. AMD says they intend to hurt Nvidia this time around, but if you like Nvidia then go for it. I think Polaris is releasing before Pascal this year so that means AMD is pretty confident it's gonna compete or beat Pascal.

    they failed with the Nano...

  13. So i got this one monitor that at the time of purchase i believed that it would work at 1080p and 75hz as advertised, false.

    Yes the monitor supports 1080p.

    Yes it could run 75Hz.

But the problem is that it doesnt run 75hz at 1920x1080, instead it only runs at 75Hz when its at 1280x1024, yet the native ratio for the panel is 16x9. Why is it like that?

Is there anyway to make 75hz run on 1080?

(this monitor is something i got off Ebay for a good price at the time.)

if you can, like @don_svetlio said getting a 380 would be a worthy upgrade and you'd notice a difference. I personally think though you are better off saving some money and getting Pascal or Polaris when you can.

Yeah if only i can wait till that long, hopefully this thing wont die on me by then

The 270x is faster than a 750ti so that's not an upgrade at all.

    270X is around 40% faster than a 750 Ti

Thank you, Thats what i assumed, however my budget isnt that grand to afford anything like a 970 or even a 980

  16. Would me getting a GTX 750 Ti be an upgrade?

I currently have a R9 270x in my system and its not doing so well, my friend recently got a GTX 750 Ti, and he said its great and he runs MGS5 on it no problem. So i was wondering if that would be an upgrade?

Or do you think it would more benefit my HTPC running AMD A10-7850k?
