Has anybody ever found an HDD that counts hours wrong on the SMART?

I found out this random Maxtor drive i keep on my table for casual backups does it.

It came to me with "10000 hours of use", i used it for the total of 6 hours at max and now it reads 19000 hours.

How weird...
