Hi are the thickness for the thermal pads on gtx 780s the same across brands? i cant find any info on the card i have, but for most others its 1mm for vrm and 0.5mm for ram, is that even right D: lol

hi, Im planing/ buying my first build, I'm on quite a tight budget and uncertain on what psu i should buy would the corsair vs550 be a good choice, or something similar at the same price, the reviews and forums have me confused, I'll include a pc part picker link and I'mm open to any advice, such as compatibility and bottlenecks, this will be a purely gaming and browsing pc and Im planning to do a much bigger build when I leave home in 2 years or so, so longevity isn't a necessity, as Im on a tight budget so please no "just get a i7 and a gtx titan" comments plx had enough of those lol http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/gR2dsY thankyou for any help its really appreciated

thankyou for the advice :), my main worry is the card being dead before i even use it, would it be a good idea to use my laptops hard drive to test gaming perfomance or would the bottlenecks make it pointless

i recently purchased a used gpu on impulse to go in my first build, it may be a month or more before i can finish the build and i want to test the card soon as possible,will i need the full system to test this, i have an old motherboard/cpu and ram on my shelf and my case, with a psu will i be able to get a video feed to test the gpu or will i need a hard drive/ windows, if thats the case will the hard drive from my laptop be useful, thanks for any help gpu is a pny 780 its a am2 asrock motherboard with a athalon x2 its all from 2006 i think, with cooler and 4gb or ddr2 my main worry is the card being doa.
