The blue LEDs have faded in most of my Mag Lev fans, and at this point I'm happy enough to replace them with some nice black fans instead of more LED fans. Plus, a couple of them have a rattle after years of use. They predate this case by at least two years.

Ok, it's not black, but it's only $99 AUD and from the GN review I just watched it seems really impressive. Thanks.

I wonder if Linus will just read the headlines on the WAN show that AMD are screwed or if he will do what other techtubers doing and dig a bit deeper and find the issues with this report?

If you really want to hit 144hz you can always turn down settings in games. You'd be surprised how little difference some image quality settings makes to the visuals yet improve your fps significantly.

I saw a preliminary story this a few days ago on the salt mine known as WCCFtech. It's good to see DF respond in professional manner, unlike the developer. People doing reviews mess up sometimes and DFs work is a type of review. Life goes on, no need to sue someone over it.

For the price, they're both pretty damn good to be fair. Even without the current GPU price problem it would be tricky to build a comparably capable 4K gaming PC for a similar price, especially for the price of a PS4 Pro. And the Pro's checkerboard rendering technique seems to work deceptively well in certain games, appearing only a touch blurrier than native 4K would.

Neither are perfect by any means, but it's nice to see the console industry finally pushing for higher resolutions. The Xbox One X in particular is pretty compelling because of its ability to render Xbox 360 titles in 4K through its backwards compatibility capability. Granted not all titles support it, but the fact that even some do is quite an important move forward for the console gaming market which has traditionally been all too willing to abandon compatibility with older systems and titles.

Another loot box I will never buy.

My personal policy on this stuff is if I buy anything in game with real world money I need to know with 100% certainty what I get out of it. Since I don't know what item I'll get from a loot box I never spend real world money on it.

I wish more people would do the same so loot boxes would be unprofitable for devs.

What did Linus say in his Skylake overclocking video? Something like don't go above 1.35 for daily use.

You shouldn't be touching anything other than multiplier and vcore unless you know what you're doing. Really, just stick to 4.4ghz. As I said I got to 4.6ghz but that was completely down to the silicon lottery. 4.4ghz is normal, no need to cause an early death to your CPU by pushing a ton of voltage through it chasing a mear 200mhz more.

And yes I only had to touch the multiplier and vcore. Like I said, silicon lottery.

DELTAprime got a reaction from Intel HD Graphics in Safe vcore for 6600k?
Manually is normally better as you can manually dial in your overclock to use the lowest stable voltage. What I do is set the multiplier then start at 1.20v and increase in .01v increments till it boots into Windows. Once into Windows use the PC as normal until it crashes and increase the voltage again by .01v. I'm a big believer in having the lowest possible voltage because the CPU or whatever it is you're overclocking will run cooler.
I'm not familiar with ASrock's presets so I'm not sure what they are doing.

Considering how I have a lump in my throat everytime I install an Intel LGA CPU because I'm afraid of damage to the pins I actually would like this on all CPUs.

Same here, those boxes look easy to reuse for other purposes.
Really?  I could have sworn that installing an engine is just a tad more complicated.

3 screws and a few tabs, while more complicated than Intel's installation method, isn't unacceptable.
Especially if the risk of bending pins is much lower as a result.
Also, you don't need a cherry picker to lift it.
