  1. My computer's HDD is starting to fail and glitches out frequently. I need to upgrade it. I've never heard of this brand before, so if it's good, hopefully the forums will be filled with success after this giveaway is over!
  2. Hmm, whereas the corporate discount is nice and the quadro may suit my needs, I think it will still be over my budget due to the added costs of the higher level CPU (which allows the higher level quadro). I think it is a bit too expensive for my budget. However, I greatly appreciate your efforts in trying to help and saving me money with the corporate code.
  3. Thanks for the input Alexboz, but I don't think the Quadro in that model will support my needs as it is less powerful than a 960M. Do you have any other recommendations?
  4. After some quick research, the first laptop you linked has everything I need in it besides the Thunderbolt 3 compatibility.. The second has a slightly lower GPU than what I'd prefer, but I'll save that one for future reference if I can't find anything else. Are there any other suggestions? And thanks again for trying to help me out. I appreciate it.
  5. Thank you Glitchmaster0001 for the reply, however, are you sure that this laptop has Thunderbolt 3 integration? That is a must-have for me and I do not see it stated anywhere on this laptop's page that it is included.
  6. Hi all, So recently I've been looking into buying a new laptop as my current one is under powered for my needs. I use Adobe Premiere and After Effects regularly, so I need a beefier laptop to run those programs smoothly. I have a budget of around $1,500 (more or less as needed). If anyone could help me find the right laptop for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. My requirements are as follows, anything higher than listed is a bonus: Screen: 15.6" or larger with non-reflective screen Resolution: 1080p CPU: 6th gen Intel Skylake i7 GPU: Nvidia card more powerful than 960M (965M+) Ram: 16GB HDD: If a HDD is included, 7200rpm Other: Numpad included Thunderbolt 3 port with USB 3.1 gen 2 Type-C Also, do you think it would be better to look for a new laptop now, or wait until more laptops show up with Thunderbolt 3 ports? As of now, I think I'm pretty limited due to this. Thoughts? Thanks ahead of time for any recommendations! I truly appreciate it.
  7. Ok, so any Thunderbolt 3 compatible port has USB 3.1 gen 2 compatibility, but not all USB 3.1 gen 2 have Thunderbolt 3 compatibility. I think I've got it. So when looking for a laptop that supports all USB 3.1 Type-C and Thunderbolt functionality, I just need to look for Thunderbolt 3, correct? I appreciate your time and quick response in answering my questions. Thanks Curufinwe_wins.
  8. Hi, I've been looking into getting a new laptop recently, but I want it to have a thunderbolt 3 compatible USB 3.1 gen 2 Type-C port. However, it isn't always clear on the websites what speeds they run at, what generation the Type-C ports are, and if they are Thunderbolt 3 compatible. I know that Thunderbolt 3 uses the USB 3.1 Type C port, so I assume that it works with both USB 3.1 gen 1 and gen 2. However, I don't know if that's the case. My questions: Can a USB 3.1 gen 1 Type-C port be Thunderbolt 3 compatible? If not, are all Thunderbolt 3 ports also USB 3.1 gen 2 compatible? Are all USB 3.1 gen 2 Type-C ports also Thunderbolt 3 compatible? Could someone clear this up for me? Thanks in advance!
