  1. Timings seem a bit off, but i think its fine. May i ask why you bought 1 gb of ram....
  2. either way, an i7 will do better.
  3. it does run, but obviously the better the specs the better the performance, right now with 8gb of ram and a core i5-5200u it takes a good 2 hours to render what im rendering.
  4. Yeah, i am. unfortunately i dont have any more money to spend on a keyboard, and monitor anyway haha
  5. Really? looking on YouTube, people playing with the 520 get around like 20-30 fps on most games and then the Radeon R9 gives like 50-60 on most.
  6. Maxon Cinema 4D, it can be pretty intensive, or not.
  7. Doesnt really help me much since i said i dont do much gaming
  8. As i said, i dont have much desk space. Definitely not enough for a second screen
  9. Hey guys, need some help. So im shopping for a new laptop, to do some light graphic design and 3d rendering on. I've narrowed it down to 2 options. Lenovo Ideapad Y700-14 Laptop - 80NU000UUS and the Lenovo Flex3 15 - 80R4000JUS - White The Flex has a Intel HD Graphics 520 GPU, whereas the Y700 has a radeon r9, which i know is better. Heres my issue: All the other specs are the same between the 2. I like the touchscreen on the Flex, and the screen size, but the GPU is just so much better on the Y700. I really want the touchscreen, and i know the 520 isnt a bad gpu but is it good enough for what im doing? (3d rendering, not much game playing, and photoshop, illustrator.) Thanks in advance!
  10. Think of it like this (the way Linus, himself explains it) Think of the CPU as a worker. His hands are the cache, really fast to access, but don't hold much. The next level is RAM, this is like the workers tool belt. Slower to access, but bigger. After RAM, we have the HDD or SSD, this is like the worker climbing down his ladder, to get a tool out of his truck. Holds more information than the RAM, but takes much longer to access. After this you have external HDD, but you dont need to worry about those.
  11. youve got a fan plenty good enough for overclocking. Just be careful, your gonna void any warranty if you have it
  12. like i said ive been working with this res for years, and it suits my needs of having enough room on the screen. Not to mention desk space is limited.
  13. Thanks for the advice, I've decided I'm getting one from Amazon cause it is much cheaper and none of the computers there with all my other specs have a better resolution. As I said ok just doing really light beginner type work so I don't need much more. I've been working with it for years now and honestly, when I look at different types side by side, (like 1600x900, the res I have) and all a bunch of different HD types, I usually can't even tell the difference. That's how some things are for me. Aside from really really bad res, I can't tell. It's the same as speakers and headphones to me, I can tell when it's really bad but everything else seems the same.
  14. Great! Thats really good to know! ive gotta run, but thanks so much for the advice I'll make sure to come to you if i need any other help.advice! Bye man!
  15. Great, thanks a ton. Only thing im concerned with is the size of it im used to a 2tb HDD so going down to like 150GB is gonna be a major game changer for me, but i do have a WD MyCloud so i guess id be good. It will be a little ways down the road after i buy it though. do places ike best buy swap them out?
