  1. Here's the PCPartPicker list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/mackhack321/saved/b2nxFT For the PSU, I just bought another of the same exact kind that is in that list.
  2. Starting recently, my machine has been restarting itself, followed by the addition of a Kernel-Power event in the Event Viewer. The strange thing is, I’ve never been in front of it when it does it, it always does it when the displays have turned off after I leave it alone for 15 minutes, so I can’t tell if it’s getting a Blue Screen or not. However, using a program called WhoCrashed, I figured out that the crash (KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDELED) was cause by the Windows kernel itself. I’ve tried replacing the power supply, as many Google results advised, but that didn’t fix the issue. Any sort of help with figuring out what’s causing this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  3. Thanks a lot for the list.
  4. I'll look into it. Thanks a bunch.
  5. Greetings, all! My father asked me how much it would cost him to upgrade his memory, and I told him that since his motherboard is so old, he would need to pretty much overhaul his rig, if I can even call it that. What I need is a build strong enough to handle the newest version of Office and a few Chrome tabs. He doesn't need anything special, just something that won't hold him back. I'm an avid user of PCPartPicker, so if anyone wants to link me to a build there, that'd be great. Thanks!
  6. Haha... I went to his profile when you mentioned him that and saw that. Needless to say, I think he will tell me what I need to know.
  7. Thanks, I'll get a hold of him if you can't solve my problems, but you're doing a grand job thus far.
  8. Nice catch on the second one, but do you think the first one would improve the life of the battery of the charger?
  9. I appreciate the quick response and the valuable information. I just did a quick eBay search, and it would be great if I could get your opinion on what I found. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Laptop-Battery-for-Samsung-AA-PB9NC6B-AA-PB9NS6B-R428-R580-R730-R780-RV511-RV520-/261868727106?hash=item3cf897ab42:g:DXYAAOSwSdZWc29x http://www.ebay.com/itm/BA43-00282A-AA-PB9NC6B-NEW-SAMSUNG-BATTERY-11-1V-4400mAh-NP300E5E-SERIES-USA-/381056073220?hash=item58b8b63e04:g:MwkAAOSwQM9UadWS Do any of those, or anything similar that you might be able to find, look reliable to you? Thanks!
  10. I'm looking to sell my Samsung laptop on eBay in order to purchase a thinner and more versatile ASUS Chromebook Flip for school. The only problem with this is that a full charge now only lasts ~2 hours. This laptop has a few years of age, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to resolve this. Battery Info: Samsung Rechargable Li-ion Battery Product ID: AA-PB9NC6B Let me know if you need more information that I might be able to supply. Thanks!
  11. I've collected all the data I need to get a good head start. Thanks for all of your help.
  12. Mid-range for the size, and not necessarily future proof. No budget yet. I'll look at it and get back to you. Thanks. Thanks for the input. I'll look at it and get back to you. Thanks. I'll look at it and get back to you. Thanks. Not sure of anything money related at the moment, yes, I know that's pretty important. I'm pretty sure he already has a good monitor Thanks
  13. So here's the deal. A good friend of mine is looking to upgrade his currently...not optimal...setup for some more intensive gaming. He's asked me to help him out, and I figured there'd be no better place to get a strong start than here. Here are the details. Currently, there is no set budget. He wants to be able to play games like Fallout 4 and Xcom 2, and be able to run a handful of mods in Fallout 4. I imagine for the CPU he wouldn't need anything more than an Intel i5 6600K, but I didn't know where to go for the graphics card. I assumed 16gb of DDR4 RAM would serve him right, but that may be a bit overkill. PCPartPicker links would be greatly appreciated as I am an avid user of the service, but it's fine if you can't use that. Let me know if you need me to clarify something. Thanks!
