You can get in through Windows. Click start button -> power -> press restart while holding in the shift button on the keyboard.
 
Then troubleshoot -> advanced -> UEFI settings.

This is ok too... its actually pretty awesome.. but I thought the same of my 5600X too.
 
I'm still there with you in spirit though.. I have an overclocked 3770K running in my sons rig.
 
Lets be real though, right now is an awesome time to be into computers. Availability sucks at times, especially if you need a GPU, but everything else is ready to go. Dam fine time to be into computers.. doesnt matter who you buy from you are going to get your moneys worth, mostly..

On that note I jump onto the bandwagon of the 1060 being a 1080p (generally) high settings card, so you will have to drop settings to break 60FPS at 1440p.

I remember flicking $1 at "dancers" at the strip club back in the 80's

I was thinking of more like a E5 1650/1660 v2 or i7 4930K/4960X, all are overclockable HEX core CPU's.  Pair that up with a  4x4GB DDR3-2133 CL9 set of RAM and a good videocard, should at least match Ryzen 5 speeds and might even approach Ryzen 7 or Coffee Lake speeds in games.
 

Last time they ramped up production for a mining craze they got screwed. People moved to asics in mass and they were left with tons of unsold gpus. So no, they can't just increase their supply.
 
If you really want a gpu upgrade now and can't afford the card you want, buy used. There are tons of last generation cards on ebay for cheap that will run your games no problem.
Why should we shame them for selling to the highest bidder? Believe it or not, the world doesn't revolve around our wish to run games at ultra settings for cheap. If you don't think they're worth the price, don't buy them - it's that simple. Vote with your wallet. But the idea the manufacturers should be chastised for charging what people are willing to pay is ludicrous. Miners have a right to buy cards en masse and pay what they want for them.
