  1. A gpu would add around 150 euros, more heat, more power consumption and just another gear in the puzzle,me thinks
  2. Good point, I added a link to my build list on pcpartpicker.
  3. Hello guys! I am putting together a htpc build with the main goal of pushing 4k 60hz. The monitor will be used for video streaming/general browsing and watching movies. Gaming isn't going to happen on it and neither any mayor data storing. I'm thinking of using an LG computer monitor instead of a TV. https://www.amazon.com/LG-27UD58-B-27-Inch-Monitor-Free... https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vrbN2R The build so far: CPU Intel pentium g4620 3.70Gz Kaby lake GPU Integrated graphics HD 630 PSU SilverStone SFX 300W SST-ST30SF Case Silverstone ML03B HTPC Case RAM Kingston 4GB 2133MHz DDR4 SSD A-Data SSD Premier Pro SP550 120GB SATAIII Help needed in these questions: 1. What itx motherboard which supports Displayport 1.2 would you recommend? ( I plan on using the club3d DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 active adapter) 2. Would getting a motherboard with on-board hdmi 2.0 also work? So far the only board with 2.0 I've found is the ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX LGA1151 but I read somewhere that it would only support 4k@24hz. 3.Would any Kaby lake CPU be able to run 60hz smoothly? 4. Is 4gb RAM enough for this build? Also, if you have any other recommendations/suggestions/critique please tell. Thank you!
  4. This is how I've set the legacy mode options, are they correct?
  5. Hello! I recently had a power outage and now my system doesn't boot up Problem is, when I have my hard drive plugged in, the bootable windows 7 usb doesn't work, it shows the "loading files" screen but then goes back to trying to start windows normally. When I unplug the hard drive, the usb works and puts me on the normal install screen like it should. I've disabled secure boot and I think I have set the parameters so that legacy mode is enabled, but it still doesn't work. Why doesn't the usb work when I have a hard drive plugged in and how can I fix that?
  6. Oh, thanks. Which one of those tools should I install? As in,what should I test?
  7. Oh crap. Can you provide a link, please? Google didn't quite get me anything.
  8. Alright, plugged the hdd into a different SATA port, when I clicked the "start windows normally", got a bluescreen. Then I clicked ''launch starup repair", it got stuck on the ''starting windows' screen again. Tried to boot the usb drive, and again, it didn't boot up. Somehow the hdd is blocking the usb boot drive from working. How is that possible?
  9. Alright, going to plug it into a different SATA port, will report back in a minute or two.
  10. Well, all of the USB ports seem to be working, maybe I could try switching to a diffeent SATA port. Is that something that happens quite often? I mean, can't it just be a broken hardrive or a corrupted OS?
  11. UPDATE: I unplugged the hdd completely, now all I have is the boot usb. It finally booted to the "install windows" but what can I do now? I can't just plug the hard drive in whilst the computer is on,can I?
  12. It doesn't freeze at any point, the UEFI works, all of the little fan animations work. It just loops endlessly when I try to boot up windows.
  13. Did that, even tried disabling all of the other drives, so that just the boot usb shows up on the list, it just boots to the UEFI and that's it. Maybe some pictures will help. The WD is an external hdd, I will remove it now, so that it doesn't get in the way. It seems that my hdd (st9...) sometimes doesn't get picked up at all, maybe it's almost dead?
  14. Yes, it seems like it's the OS but I don't get why I can't get the boot usb to start. It is formatted in fat32 and has all the right files, it's the same one I used to install windows in the first place. When I set it to boot first, it shows the "windows is loading files" progress files like normally but then just cuts to the "starting windows" which just keeps glowing .
