  1. Alright, thanks, I'll go for this build. It's too easy to get carried away. BTW, some parts may be going on sale at NewEgg at 12 AM PST / 3AM EST?
  2. It goes over my budget, but what about a 16GB memory module? By this time next year, I could have the system up to its 64GB max? Or is that crazy?
  3. That would be a lot better and still in my budget. Probably should move to that new thread since we've gone off the top of just Graphic Cards?
  4. I'd rather spend more and not settle for "acceptable", if acceptable was acceptable then I'd buy a new PC at Walmart. Since this has progressed beyond just adding some cards, I'm going to make a new thread in "New Builds and Planning":
  5. 1. Budget & Location Budget: $350 US (If I need more for something like extra memory, I will have an extra $300 - $350 to spend in 4 months for upgrades) Location - North Carolina 2. Aim Run games like H1Z1, Crysis 3, Far Cry 4 at 60FPS in 1080P; and to be able to upgrade it in a year to play Far Cry 5 at 60FPS in 1080P. 3. Monitors I have one 1080P HD monitor but would like to upgrade after a year. 4. Peripherals I have a keyboard, mouse, and headset. 5. Why are you upgrading? Games on my current system don't just run slow and look bad, they sound horrible too. Parts that I have: Power Supply: Seasonic S12 II Bronze 620W 80Plus Power SupplyPSS12II620 Tower: Cooler Master N400 No Power Supply ATX Mid Tower (Midnight Black)CA-400KKN2
  6. What's wrong with my current memory? Will I still be able to upgrade to the Ryzen 5 2600 next year?
  7. First, you are awesome, thank you! Second, I'd like to see what parts I already have that I can use so I don't have to buy. How much more would it cost and be able to run games like H1Z1 at full 1080P at 60FPS? This is the memory in my current system: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA5751RA1990 Current Power Supply: Seasonic S12 II Bronze 620W 80Plus Power SupplyPSS12II620 Parts just sitting: Tower: Cooler Master N400 No Power Supply ATX Mid Tower (Midnight Black)CA-400KKN2 Video Card: 1EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2GB SuperSC GDDR5 DVI/HDMI/3DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card w/ ACX 2.0+ CoolerEV-960G2SC Motherboard: 1ASRock H97 PRO4 LGA1150/ Intel H97/ DDR3/ SATA3&USB3.0/ A&GbE/ ATX Motherboard
  8. I just want to be able to enjoy my games on Steam. Currently, they take a while to load from my External Drive over USD 2.0, the video is not smooth, and the sound is not good.
  9. why do you need a USB card: My system doesn't have a USB 3.0, but my Steam library is on an External Drive, so 3.0 would we faster. and a sound card? The sound card on my Mother Board is notoriously bad. 4gbs of VRAM isn't a requirement I guess, but a goal. I have Humble Bundle Monthly, where I donate to a different charity every month and I get free Steam codes. I now have over 300 different Steam games, so I just want to make sure they all run well. I do not have a current GPU. This is my only PC. I am saving up to build a VR system, but that's a year away, and then this will be my spare.
  10. It looks like I will be limited to a 6GB card due to physical size between the case and power supply, but will 6GB be enough for any non-VR game on Steam? The two I see on sale that will fit in my case: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 Mini, ZT-P10600A-10L, 6GB GDDR5 Super Compact : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500402&ignorebbr=1 MSI GeForce GTX 1060 DirectX 12 GTX 1060 6G OCV1 6GB 192-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready ATX Video Card: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137095&ignorebbr=1 Also it looks like no matter where I put it I am going to lose 2 PCIE slots due to the double height of video cards? Correct me if I am wrong, but I can only put one of these cards in the blue colored slot and it will block the short black one? So I guess this means I'll only be able to install this and a sound card? I'll just have to settle for running my games off an external drive through USB 2.0, I don't see where I could fit a USB 3.0 card?
  11. Before I ordered it, I got out a ruler, it's .05" too long. So back to the drawing board.
  12. This one is a better deal without the rebate card. still with 8GBs of VRAM, but I am not sure what else is different? I'm still a novice at upgrading PCs. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131720&cm_re=rx580-_-14-131-720-_-Product
  13. $5 - $20, my rig runs over 300 games through Steam, I keep the save data on an external drive that supports USB 3.0.
  14. I had a problem a long time ago from not keeping my BIOS up to date, now I check it once a month along with other updates. This one is only $50 more, should I go for it? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150794&cm_re=rx580-_-14-150-794-_-Product
  15. According to the manual: I/O Ports 10 External USB 2.0 ports and 1 Internal USB 2.0 (MT & DT only);1 Serial; 1 RJ-45; 1 VGA; 1 DisplayPort; 2 PS/2; 2 Line-in (stereo/microphone), 2 Line-out (headphone/speaker), optional Parallel/2nd Serial PCIe card (MT), optional 2nd Serial PCIe card (DT & SFF), optional 1394a PCI card (MT & DT, available from middle May 2011); optional USB 3.0 PCIe card The optional USB 3.0 PCIe card is obviously not installed, but everything else in that discription I have to admit is over my head as I am still learning as I go.
