  1. Got some pictures. The PCI connector seems to be fine, no burnt colors on any of the gold pieces. The 6pin extra power connector also seems to be fine. i will be removing the back panel when I have the time, work is keeping my on my toes. Hopefully this is some help though
  2. Yeah, I can take pictures but I'll be doing repairs a little later. Still at work ATM.
  3. So what I should do is open the card, and check for bad solders? I'm quite new to repairing GPU's, so I have no clue on what to do.
  4. I have a GTX1050Ti in my inventory that was given to me from a friend. I currently have a 960, so I want to use it to upgrade. However, there's one big problem: The card was previously short circuited. They brought it back to their seller and got a new card since they had warranty, and gave up the "broken" one to mine, so I'm hoping anyone in the community knows a way to fix a short circuited card. It'll SOMETIMES work and give output, but most of the time there's no signal from the card. Fans will spin though. I'm thinking it's the outputs that's been broken. And yes, I've tried all the sockets. Details on how it happened: My buddy plugged in his Nintendo Switch OUTPUT cable (the cable you'd plug into your TV) into the HDMI INPUT of the card. I'm assuming the two signals mixed and went kerplowey?
  5. Hello LTT members, I've been having issues where my computer is crashing for no apparent reason. I cannot seen to find the reason why. I've done numerous testing over the course of the few months, and it just crashes randomly. I check for thermal throttling, but the computer is completely fine. My hard drive is not close to being half full. I've conducted CPU intensive games and programs, to which the computer has not crashed too. It just seems erratic and crashes for no particular reason. I've checked and nothing is an issue either. I cannot move my mouse or use the classic Ctrl + Alt + Delete key command to close out. It's just unresponsive. My computer shows no signs of issue however, and acts as if it's functioning fine. The fans to not rev up and my mouse and keyboard stay lit up, and continue to change color. I have a GTX 960SSC, AMD 6300 and an M5A97 Pro Motherboard. I've had my computer for less than a year, so I don't think aging is an issue. Thank you very much for helping LTT!
  6. There are always cuts and balances with motherboards. Just find one that has the most use to you. CPU won't be noticeable unless you play very CPU heavy games. Other than that, I think you'll be fine.
  7. Just watch it and see what happens. Might be a faulty, return it if it keeps occurring.
  8. I need a good monitor desk mount at a fair price that can hold two 25" monitors. If possible, please have it <$200.00 Thanks
  9. We request more scrapyard wars!

      Yes! We need it

  10. This could possibly be a hardware issue. Since you OC'ed, possibly one of the connections in the GPU board melted and lost some connection with it. Could also be just a faulty.
  11. So I get the title is misleading, but I didn't know any other way to phrase it. Essentially, I'm looking a decent sized monitor with a small bezel under $200 that is at least 1920 x 1080. Simple enough, but I was also looking for a nice quality dual monitor stand so I can set both of them up. Thanks.
  12. Application is simple enough, just like any other paste if you've done it. Press down, and put a pea size amount on the CPU. Then evenly press down with the heatsync. Screw the heatsync (or press the clips down if you have Intel stock) in a cross pattern until secure. DON'T OVER TIGHTEN THE HEATSYNC, IT CAN DAMAGE THE PINS k If you're really not sure, check out the video they did on it.
  13. Yes, the compound is good. I purchased it two years ago and it's still holding up well. I replaced the goop every year and my CPU hasn't overheated. If you can, you should replace your GPU paste with this one. I tested it with my GTX 960SSC and it hasn't thermal throttled once, even under load. In the end, paste is just paste. If it cuts the job, it's good enough.
