  1. Congratulations on the 1M+ followers! I remember searching for component reviews in Jan. 2013 in order to decide what to buy for my new PC I intended to buy. I already knew (in general) what I wanted (ASUS motherboard, Corsair RAM, PS and Case, WD HDD, Dell Monitor, ..), and, searching YouTube for video reviews I stumbled upon LinusTechTips, and from the first videos I watched, I realized this is something completely different from the other videos I watched before - the videos were awesome, informative, short enough not to get bored, and very objectively presented. I think that every single piece of hardware and peripherals that I bought for my build was reviewed on LTT before and after I finished my PC build. And I am grateful for the videos that helped me make my decisions easier. So, how could I have not subscribed, right? And since then, to this day, I check almost daily for new videos on LTT and TechQuickie. I remember, when I joined there were 128k or 176K subscribers, and very quickly next time I checked there were around 425k. Earlier this year I checked again and there were 716k, and just a little more over a month ago there were 912k. So, I was very happy to see this morning that there were 1.000.111 subscribers, and later on to watch Linus' anouncement video. Great work guys! I wished I lived in Canada so I could meet you guys at one of your events and congratulate you in person. (Hopefully in a few years, or sooner, I will). Congratz on TechQuickie also! Great channel! I love to watch those short videos and learn more about things or learn about new stuff. Keep on the great work!
  2. Thanks for the giveaway Linus! Keep up the great work!
  3. ok . .thanks for all the fast replies! i'll go for the Dominator Platinums 1866MHz .. and hope they are indeed compatible with the M6E.
  4. Hello! I am still undecided about what memory to get for my ASUS ROG MAximus VI Extreme. I know that i want 32 GB from Corsair, the Dominator Platinum series. I saw Linus running the 2400MHz in his video(s).. so i know that the CMD32GX3M4A2400C10 works. What i would like to know is if the 2133MHz - CMD32GX3M4A2133C9 works with the M6E also, because i would preffer this one. Also, wich one would you choose, and why? Or what other 32GB memory kit for the M6E would you choose, and why?
  5. I care about the noise my system will produce only to the extent of having good airflow inside my case and good static pressure for my radiator. Also i know noctua has good fans, .. but the "ugly" colors made me take them off the list altogether, they will not go with my mod at all. Thanks for the reply and for voting though.
  6. I am a bit undecided about which case fans and radiator fans to choose from, so I hope I will get some good advice from the community. Although, belive me, I apreciate everyone's input (as long as it's on topic and not just spam) .. Linus, i hope, if you stumble upon this thread, to get your input also. The case i want to cool is the Corsair Carbide Air 540, and the (CPU cooling) radiator will be the Corsair Hydro H100i. The Air 540 case comes with 2x Corsair AF140L intake fans (front) and 1x Corsair AF140L exhaust fan (back); as for the H100i, it comes with 2x Corsair SP120L fans. I plan on replacing all these fans, and you'll understand why in a minute (if you haven't fallen aspleep yet and you bear with me and keep reading). So my desired fan setup will be: for the case: 3x 120mm fans intake (front) and 1x 140mm fan exhaust (rear), for the radiator: 4x 120mm fans in a 2+2 push-pull setup. My fan choices are: for the case: 3x Corsair AF120 Performance edition High Airflow .. or .. Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition High Airflow for intake and 1x Corsair AF140 Quiet Edition High Airflow for exhaust, for the radiator: 4x Corsair SP120 High Performance Edition High Static Pressure .. or .. Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition High Static Pressure in a 2+2 push-pull setup. I would have included the Noctua NH-F12 and the NF-P12 fans, but, as I said above, I am replacing the existing fans with new retail ones from Corsair for the color ring customization option it provides, alowing me to mod my case, and the Noctua fans, even though they are good ones, they don't look as good with the case, and my intended mod. So, what I really want you guys to help me decide is whether if is it worth sacrificing some significand amount of Airflow and Static Pressure for the lower Noise the Quiet Edition Fans provide(?). I attached below some stats Linus obtained while testing these fans (as he said in his video, the Noise results are just a "relativ comparison" because they weren't obtained in a sound chamber .. but still, they are very close to the truth of it, even though, some Noise numbers provided by the manufacturers are quite diffrent from these tested ones). I hope i'm not influencing anyone's opinion, but i am inclined to choose the Corsair AF120 Performance edition High Airflow and the Corsair SP120 High Performance Edition High Static Pressure, and not the Quiet Edition fans. BTW, .. with 3x 120mm fans for intake and 1x 140mm fan + 4x 120mm fans (in a 2+2 push-pull setup) for exhaust will I have Negative or Positive Pressure inside my case? I want to avoid Negative Pressure, so .. do you think that adding either 2x 140mm (in the bottom of the case) or 3x 120mm (behind the already existing 3 fans in front) will solve the Negativ Pressure problem? Please reply if you can help me with my indecisiveness. Thanks to all who made it this far by reading my boring-ass-long post.
  7. I have 4 Samsung 840 Pro 256GB running in RAID10 on my new PC .. and for storrage i have my old pc's HDDs wich i'm using in an externel hot swapable rack. and ofcourse like evey other hdd i have been using in the last 12 years, those storage hdds are WD (2x WD caviar green @ 500GB, 2x WD caviar green @ 1TB and 2x WD caviar green @ 2TB). WD hdds are awesome.
  8. I would like to ask for/suggest a review or some info about the new Xonar Phoebus SOLO sound card, and if possible as a comparison to the classic XONAR PHOEBUS. thank you!
  9. thanks for all the replies! .. so, to answer you all now .. i saw the video where Linus was using the Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB kit @ 2400MHz .. but still i was worried, cause i didn't want to buy the memory and not work (it's prety expensive .. around 500 euro). i am planning on using this system for some light Gaming (but i still like to have the option to be able to play some hardcore Games) and for Graphic/CAD/Video work. so, just in case you are curious, here's what i bought so far: CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K MB: ASUS Maximus VI Extreme ..that's about it .. so far .. thanks again and hope to get more feedback from you.
  10. I just bought a ASUS Maxiumus VI Extreme, and I am uncertain about which memoy i should choose. I want 32GB (4x8GB) kit that runs at a higher frequency (2400/2133.. or higher). Initialy i wanted to get the 32GB kit from Corsair (Dominator Platinum) CMD32GX3M4A2400C10, but i haven't seen this kit in the recomended/aproved memory list from ASUS, although i think i saw the Maxiumus VI Extreme with the Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB kit (2400Mhz) in Linus' Haswell overclocking video. So .. i would like to know if indeed this two (ASUS Maxiumus VI Extreme and Corsair's CMD32GX3M4A2400C10) are compatible and will work just fine from start or at least with as little teaking as possible. Also, if you have any other 32GB memory solutions for the M6E, please let me know.
  11. if i win i'll personally come to Canada and claim it. I'm dead serious. I was looking for a reason to come "up there" anyways. ... "up there" .. omg .. i crack myself.
  12. WD has awesome HDDs .. i've been using them for almost 10 years now and none of the 12 (or more) i bought died on me or gave me any trouble. Also Linus' videos are awesome. Keep up the nice work.
