This whole thing makes me feel sorry 4 Samsung as people, especially Apple fans, are just jumping all over them 4 something that IS NOT there fault. Thank you 4 pointing out it's a batt supplier issue & NOT samsung. Samsung, in my opinion is going WAY out of there way 2 keep people safe & as happy as possible. Even with the fact it's only happened 2 like 35 out of millions of phones they are doing what they're doing! They could have pulled an Apple & said it isn't happening 4 a few weeks but no, as soon as they were made aware of it they investigated & like ~2 weeks after 1st being reported told people in an official statement as 2 warn people! I personally applaud Samsung as 2 how they're handling this issue!

could you help me PLEASE? I've looked into freeNAS but not only does it require a 64 bit CPU but also needs a lot more RAM than what I have, according to their website anyway. I've never used FreeNAS or Samba & have no idea where to get Samba or a 32 bit ver. of FreeNAS that would work with what Ive got 2 work with. I also have no idea what im doing as far as setting it up & stuff. Im trying to set this up 4 a non-profit, no kill, animal rescue. Thats why im so limited on what I can use as this hardware was donated. Im pretty sure that I can double the RAM by taking it out of 1 of the desktop computers that were also donated in this batch as the cases wouldnt work 4 much (2 small) & i think that all the systems guts are all same. Thank you

Can someone please tell me what OS i can use 4 this setup to be used as a NAS?

I know, don't care right now about power & all i have as far as drives i can use is IDE drives 4 now, Donations again. Like I said i'm just trying to get something going with what i have 4 now as i can't buy anything because don't have any $ 4 this. BELIEVE me, I wish I could build a NAS out of brand new or even just newer stuff but we are a non-profit & only have donations to use 2 keep us going.

I know that this could very well be a bad idea but I figured I'd ask here & see if anyone might have any ideas on how to do this please? I volunteer at a local no kill animal rescue in Billings, MT USA & someone donated like 4 desktops & tower computers (I'm pretty sure there all the same but not positive on if all this CPU) with a locked version of XP pro that can't get into as I think they were used in a school so there locked up pretty good from what I can tell. What I would like to do is turn 1 of them (at least) into a NAS (hopefully something we can access over the internet) but IDK really where 2 start or anything else 4 that matter when it comes 2 software. I have built computers from the ground up before but it was something like 10 years ago! I have VERY little $ to use 4 this & am in DESPERATE need of some help please?! If anybody has any questions they need to ask to help please let me know. Any ideas would be VERY much appreciated by me, the pets we help, & my co workers at the animal rescue! Thank you

I've been considering getting it & seeing how I'm thinking about building a pc or 2 sometime when I start those projects I'll probably get it then?
