  1. Or you can wait and get the new 1080 or 1070
  2. I have started to do my research on ZFS and was thinking that it would be a safe place to start. Especially if it allows for me to plug and play different drives. So if I went this route it would be important for me to make sure I either get a mobo with plenty of connectors or rely on a raid card but just to increase the number of possible drives correct. THen through the program installed (FreeNAS with ZFS) I would be good to expand and change drives. Meaning no raid setup
  3. Thank you both. I just wanted to make sure there was something out there that would allow for me to expand storage without losing data.
  4. So, I am beginning the journey to creating a NAS and will be running some sort of RAID (To be determined) My question is say i start with 3 hard drives in a raid format. I now want to add a fourth to increase my total storage. Is it as simple as plugging it in and adding it to the raid. Would any data be lost or will the RAID setup just add it in their with the other hard drives? How do you go about increasing the number of hard drives in a raid.
  5. you mean you have to have motherboard standoffs? I sure didnt put any one lolz
  6. That eliminates any MAC. Which is what I have so hopefully someone else can help you out. And dont hate on my too much please! I have a gaming rig so i'm cool right?!
  7. What games are you wanting to play. That will make the difference between what people will say to get.
  8. I thought that the questions you asked in the survey were all sound questions that are debatable. For me the fact that not everyone is good at esports is why they should be a sport. Some people are naturally athletic, some are naturally gifted with video games. Competition is competition and if you have two or more people competing to win then it is a sport.
  9. For me it was Halo 2. This was the game that introduced me to the video game world and I spent an unreal amount of time on both the multiplayer and the campaign. Could never get past that crescent moon tho!
  10. It should have no issue. I am running an r9 280 and can run most of my games on high settings in 21x9
  11. Yeah can't win em all... If that does happen Canada is about to grow quite quickly lol
  12. I guess that is one way to respond to Nvidia's new hardware especially if they turn out to be that powerful. I guess from a business stand point that would make sense to build up the "average" computers. I guess we will have to wait and see. Thanks for the article!
  13. I do not have an answer for you but I tried to crossfire two 280x's and had similar results so I just said screw it and sent back my second card and have just been using one since then. Much easier and dont have to worry about all the mess. Just sitting here waiting for newer, better GPU's
