  1. Hello, I am making an electric bike and the motor controller is a 1000w controller and will draw 48V at 20A. I am going to be using 52 cells with 13 in a series and 4 sets of those in parallel. I will be using Samsung 30Q cells with a 15A maximum continuous current.

I'm wondering if the batteries are able to safely output the required current and if what amperage rating of a Battery Management System do I need (Is 20 sufficient or do I need more?)?

    Thanks for the help!

If the purpose of the laptop is primarily for typing up papers, presentations, spreadsheets, and the like, you cannot go wrong with a Chromebook. What does he plan to do with this laptop? Knowing that, I could make a recommendation for a Windows laptop. Does your friend have a preference in screen size and keyboard layout (numpad or no numpad)?

they have no preference but according to their professor, they need a windows 7/8/10 laptop. Otherwise, I would recommend a Chromebook. He plans to use it to write papers and use Microsoft office tools.

  3. Hello Rick! welcome to the forums!

For gaming I would recommend either a i7-8700 Non-unlocked as it seems you don't want to bother with that: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-8700-Desktop-Processor-Cores/dp/B07598HLB4/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1547238146&sr=1-3&keywords=i7+8700

    For a mobo I would recommend a gigabyte B360M: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-B360M-DS3H-LGA1151-Motherboard/dp/B07BQ9SSH7/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1547238103&sr=1-4&keywords=lga+1151+motherboard

For your memory I woul go with  a 2x8gb set of corsair vengance ram: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0134EW7G8/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1547238066&sr=1-3&keywords=ddr4+ram+16gb

If you have a higher budget You could go with a more expensive mobo but at the moment that should be a pretty good system.

  4. Personally I would go with the i7 8700k as it has better single and Quad core performance and therefore will be better for gaming. However, the 2400x will be better for a more mixed workload. If it is strictly gaming I would go for the i7-8700k. If your firend won't be overclocking the card I would go for the i7-8700 non-unlokced CPU as you can pick one up on Newegg for $305

I have an Intel Core i7-6700K and an Asus Maximus IX Hero motherboard. I'm currently running this ram set at it's rated XMP profile, 3200 at 1.35 volts. I know it's completely unnecessary to go any farther, but what kind of voltage would be safe to run an overclock past it's rated XMP for daily use? Is 1.4 volts safe? Is 1.45 pushing it? I appreciate any replies, and have a nice day!

Personally, 1.35 is what I would use for everyday use. You could run 1.45 but I personally wouldn't leave it there full time. 1.35v is safe. 1.45 is ok for testing but I wouldn't run it for extensive periods of time.

  6. That's pretty normal with PUBG. If you want better performance I would turn down shadows and render distance as those have the largest effect on FPS

( The chart shows 1080p benchmarks but adjust for resolution and you numbers are quite normal and many people with a 1080ti 1440p are reporting the same numbers as you)

It's not an affiliate link. It's like a super direct link without any tags (affiliate), without any product names, without any strings attached :D You can ask mod.

Even if I attach with affiliate link, it'd be replaced by LTT's affiliate link automatically. It's a feature in forum.

I looked it up sorry to bother I didn't know. I was just being paranoid :P
